After waiting for 9 weeks this beauty finally showed up.Well worth the wait and the fantastic price from Clay at PR,you guys are the best.
I was lucky enough to have the day off and was there to answer the door as it came canada post!
I checked the trigger pull and its around 8oz,ran a few patch's through the bore.cleaned the shipping film off the barrel,lubed and greased the bolt and put it together.
I started with 22 inch lbs on the action screws.
I had a sightron 6-24x42 bigsky so I mounted it up.Was lucky to have a set of the high warn rings as I needed the extra 1mm to fit.
You need tall rings on these rifles.I bought a set of permanent mount tallys to go with a 30mm tube.
It looks to be a tight fit as well with my HST 6-24x50.
I hope it shoots as good or better than my old girl match 64 beside it.
Probably be a couple of weeks before I can get it out and find out which ammo it likes.

Yes it feels very good in my hands and is a more ambi friendly stock since I am left eye dominant and shoot left but cycle the bolt RH
The larger newer 26mm action feels more robust on lock up than my old 64,impressive quality except for the cheesy tinfoil savage magazine.
Sure glad I never wasted money buying a spare annie mag when I have 3 savage mags kicking around.
The barrel is even beefier than my Match 64 barrel.
 
Looks like hours of fun just waiting to happen.

Will be interesting to see if it does shoot any better than the match 64 does.
Would love to see targets from both on the same day.
 
Yes it will make for lots of fun and frustration testing ammo and comparing it to the match 64.I'm really hoping it likes my newer bricks of center X.I have only 1 box of an older lot that shoots awesome out of the match. My old 64 doesn't like the new lots or the midas. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will prefer sk std plus. I almost had time to get out today but it was hot and breezy.
 
I was starting to think it was a "fairy tale" that you had an MPR "on the way" lol :d And there it is, a fine machine! After getting my MSR I'm with ya on that thread you started earlier "I should have bought an Anschütz right away". The trigger is amazing and out of the box it is shooting mid-grade ammo very well. After another brick down the tube it should be ready to feed the high-end stuff and check the challenge off the list :) I'm sure I'll get a successful result before then but with only one official attempt allowed I'd prefer it to get it's best representation with quality ammo than one with a few "almost blew it" groups due to the ammo. If I was you I'd hang on to that Center-X and just get some SK down the tube for the first couple range sessions, get a feel if it needs some "break in" or ready for the good stuff.

Yes i'm going to take my time and hopefully produce a worthy challenge test target.I've already decided to add some yardage to the 50 this time.I was shooting groups at 54 yds on the weekend with the match 64.I was testing some new centre X and only managed 8 out of 15 groups under 1/2" with lots of high powered rifles going off around me at the range.
Yes no Fairy Tale but a long wait non the less and its good to be patient,plus with the great pricing from Prophet River.I'm really hoping it does well with SK std plus as I have lots of it and its pretty cheap.I have been getting the center X at a very good price as well and find it has way less flyers.
I,m hoping it doesn't like the Midas + that stuff was $$$ Either way though no sense investing a decent rifle unless you plan on feeding it well!!

What ammo shortage? LOL How's that old SK compare to the new label? In the new label stuff I have, the rifle match distinctly shoots tighter groups and more of them than the Std + but still has the odd flyer. Peter at Target Shooting Products told me Lapua hasn't been producing ammo this year due to primer supply issues and was completely out of stock for all Lapua ammo so I loaded up on Eley and some RWS though he was running low at the time waiting for new shipment. As I'm now getting into silhouette shooting I'm less concerned about shooting bugholes, definitely like to see what the rifle can do and post a nice 1/2" challenge result then find something less spendy for the matches. Eley Sport looks like it'll do a good job for a reasonable price now I just need to take it to 100 yards and see how it does.

Nice stash there. I have found the same thing the new label sk std plus shoots better. I was unable to do a challenge group with the old sk in my 455 varmint. With the new batch it was pretty easy. My latest bricks of center X are not as good ,I'm hoping the mpr likes it. I've heard a lot of guys on RFC say that eley doesn't work well in anschutz rifles. I've been reluctant to try as its a big investment.
I've also been shooting less tight groups lately and shooting my Tikka T3 varmint 223 a lot. I've also been shooting my old mosberg 146ba with open sights at 40-50yds at resetable targets. Lot's of fun and a way to chew up some bulk ammo,all free standing

Seriously though, that's a fantastic looking gun. I don't know if you saw my thread last week titled "CZ 455 or Anschutz 64" but you're definitely adding some weight on the Annie side.

Hey Rabid~where are you finding that kind of variety of ammo in Ontario? (assuming you are)
