My New Anshutz MPR from Prophet River

Hey Rabid~where are you finding that kind of variety of ammo in Ontario? (assuming you are)
The Eley and RWS bricks I got from Peter @ Target Shooting Products in Toronto, not a store front but you can arrange a pick up to save delivery charges. Sk and Lapua I ordered in from Hirsch Precision. The various single boxes of Fiocchi, Federal, RWS and Aguila I got at Al Simmons in Hamilton. The Aguila Sniper SubSonic 60 grain is absolute crap 2 inch groups in several rifles.

That stack of tenex, you could now sell (according to Cabelas prices) and buy another nice .22

I don't know of any rifle that would sell for $215 used that I would be even remotely interested in. The Leupold VX-1 3-9x scope I put on my Remington 597 plinker cost more than that.

@ RabitM4U5...My comments were tongue-in-cheek, Cabelas had some Tenex on the shelf for almost 40$ for a box of 50. All that precision stuff is going up to the point where it is no longer fun to shoot it.

Fantastic Photos

Enjoy your new MP R
Thanks for being the importers of these fine rifles and supporting Prophet River as a dealer. This is one quality piece, I can only imagine what a BR 50 or 5430 would be like. I'm sure I'll enjoy it than pass the match 64 onto someone else.

I managed to sneak out this am before work and thunderstorms too try out the new MPR
All I can say is i'm very impressed
I never even had to sight it in it was dead on from the start.I started at 25 yds with aguila SV and put all the holes inside each other.
I shot a personal best today as well with a .183 @ 56yds
I did all of the rest of my shooting at 56yds as I had a feeling the MPR was up to the challange.
Next time out I will do more ammo testing,I only used 2 lots sk std plus and one of center X
Seems to really like the newer box SK std plus.

Lewkin' Gewd brutha! Today my MSR decided that it doesn't like Eley as much as it did the last two times and preferred SK rifle match instead. Oh these rimfires, so fickle

I got out today for some more ammo testing I used in order SK Rifle Matck, older box SK std plus, center X,Midas +,and Federal UM22.
The surprise was ho well the Ultra Match did, getting a best 25 shot average of .357
The biggest dissapointment was Midas + being the most expensive.
Was very pleased with my personal best today of a .102 but not happy to follow that group with a .577 oh well thats rimfire.
The center X was shooting pretty decent today with an average of .363
I'm sure liking this new MPR and am very happy with it.Next up is to play with the action screw torque as I have it at the lowest recomended setting.
Was a good mix of distractions at the range today which makes you a better shooter!I usually shoot groups with nowone around.
A big thanks again to Horseman on the head,s up on getting a brick of Federal UM22 for $129 plus free shipping from cabelas as my MPR really likes it.

Nice shootin! How many rounds through it now? I gotta look into getting some of that Ultramatch great price for it my LGS is charging $35 /box 50. I picked up two boxes and the lady at the checkout thought "that can't be right, looks like the brick price." and changed the price to $5.30 for me! :) Doubt I'll get that deal again.

Right around 200 rounds through it now. Cabelas has it on sale till tonight for $14.99 a box,not the $12.99 from the flash sale but still a decent price.

Latest ammo test from yesterday.Got to love centerX by far the best bang for the buck.Midas + what a dissapointment, would like my $180 back for that brick.Agulia SV i'll keep that for my vintage rifles!
Really impressed with the newer SK STD plus not in the same league as center x but good enough for a challenge group.I was hoping for great things from my initial testing of Federal ultra match but that too is starting to dissapoint.
Hoping I can source some more center x as its drying up.
All shooting was from a dirty barrel with no cleaning between.
Cheers Ryan.
