I got my new toy 2 weeks ago, and didn't have time to post until now :)

The wait is over for me. It is SIG 516 patrol 5.56 with 16" barrel. I also got an LMT CQB MRP upper 12" barrel.

I am going to sell the SIG upper and just mate the LMT upper with the SIG lower. What do you guys think?

Here are the pictures. I will be starting to put the extras and upgrades in the next days or weeks, and I will be updating this thread with pictures.

I am looking to add Geiselle trigger (not sure which one) and Noveske receiver end plate and QD are still on their way from Brownells to be added on the rifle. I was thinking of adding DBAL, but this rifle is pretty heavy already so I probably won't.

You can just call them to advise of the change they will issue a new certificate. I believe you have 30 days from when you make this "permanent " modification to notify them.
 
Last night when I was working on the rifle, I noticed that Magpul BAD lever will not fit on SIG 516 :confused:It grinds on the lower.

Also, my ambi BCM gunfighter mod 4 grinds a bit on the surface right below it. Anybody experience this issue?

Does anyone else know which lever I need to purchase to fit SIG 516? I read on forums that Tactical Link will fit on SIG 516, but I would like to know what you guys think.

Why would you have to register the change swapping the LMT upper onto the SIG lower? The lower is the registered and serial numbered part, the upper basically just an accessory so to speak. You think guys that build Franken AR's with all sorts of mixed lower receiver, upper receiver, lower parts kits, barrel register the change?

You can have a new upper on your lower for a certain amount of days until you have to register it with the new barrel length.
 
Is it normal for new charging handle bottom side to grind with the rifle surface? I installed a BCM gun fighter mod 4 on LMT upper and it grinds a bit left scuff on the rifle.
