Picked it up at a recent auction. She is a beauty. She's a little dirty right now, but I should have her cleaned up before I hit the range tomorrow. I am a total neophyte to revolvers, and this auction saw my first two bought. (I bought an Enfield Tanker as well). I have spent the last four days figuring out what ammo I "can" and "cannot" use as well.
Here are some specs on it I dug up:
Total length: 11.5 inches (292 mm)
Weight, empty 2.07 pounds (.94 kg)
Caliber .38 long Colt
Barrel length: 6 inches (152 mm)
Muzzle velocity 785 feet per second (239 meters per second)
Capacity 6 rounds
Good thing for me the estate also had .38 caliber ammo for sale too.
Here are some pics:
Anyone have an idea what these are worth? Serial # is in the 2XX,###'s. I have read this one is over 100 years old, but you'd never know by the condition.
