So I broke down today and picked up a another 375 ruger but this time in the Savage Alaskan Brush Hunter it looks and feels good and its super short (BBL length is 20" inchs) so it should be handy in the thick stuff. I'll post more pics when I get back from the range when I sight it in. I wasnt gonna put a scope on it right away but I guess it depends on how the irons work really? I could change my mind by tonight. Oh And I think a HS precision stock in the future is a must lol.

I'll throw some numbers at you next time I get to the range and as for muzzle blast it's not pleasant with this rifle and it definitely needs a limb saver.

Hard to pass up stainless .375, let us know what the muzzle blast is like and if you have a chrony, would love to hear the numbers. Not sure if brass availability is what it once was, but I saw two boxes on the shelf at a local shop and can likely secure them if needed.

nice. always wanted one of those but I don't have a practical use for it in sask.

What the heck does practicality have to do with buying a new rifle!?:p

If you do need some justification, how about a bull elk coming in to a cow call at a full run through dense bush at 12yds? Nothing says "whooa, slow down there big fella" like a .375.;) Well, except maybe a .416 or .458.

Looks like a fun rifle!

OP, if yer into reloading you can taylor up loads for everything from gophers to elephant,
especially if you work with cast boolits. That compact Savage would be the ticket in
the north, wet coastal areas fer meat gathering and just plain fun use!

Good grab.:)
