well folks, I just dropped $1500 on a brand new Mathews '06 switchback XT

picked it up last night,

on my XT I have :

"Top Dog" toxonics 5 pin sight

NAP Shock blocker

Whisker biscuit delux

Mathews Arrow web 2 peice non detachable raised quiver

my specs are 28" draw with 70lb limbs, I think it'll put me right around the 295 FPS mark( not fast, but not slow)

This bow is so smooth, I would encourage anybody to get one, I've only shot it twice, but with the two string suppresors, you don't even need leeches or limbsavers, its so quiet

with its generous brace height and its short ATA, I knew this was the bow for me

Bow #### eh? Well, heres my Ten-Point. Upgraded limbs, 165 LB draw weight, 338 FPS, Excaliber Drop Zone scope calibrated to the carbon bolts.
Harris Bipod (I had an extra!) and a laser sight machined into the forearm, just for ####z and giggles.

I've got a 1995 (or thereabouts) PSE Mach 6. I haven't bow hunted for years though. Last time out I called in a bull moose and dropped it, but I haven't bow hunted since.

I looked at a new bow as well, man what a difference over my old PSE Nova, what a difference, so much smoother to draw back and quite a bit faster, that bow chrono'd at 259 set at 28", at 30" should be close to 300.

Here's some pictures of some ugly dude (me) with my 60lb Western Archery takedown recurve:

And here is the rusult of a small game hunt with my Martin 50lb recurve (a racoon, shot out of a tree at 25 yards). Looking forward to deer this year, with my new Martin Mamba 70lb recurve.

RECURVE BOWS RULE! No sights, no pulleys, just draw and sight over your arrow. Like throwin' a baseball....

Cat, I do like those bows of yours.
All the pulleys and counterweights and weird stuff just confuses me.
I've used a collapsable recurve bow before, just messing around mind you, and that was very cool.
What are bows like yours worth?

I've shot a "collapsable" bow before!
It was a Browning target recurve with a metal riser and the lims hinged when it folded up.
Pretty neat bow actually.
