Early this year I set out to try and build a "1 gun" solution for all the clays games. I chose a 391 sporting as my starting point largely because I hunt with an Extrema and I found it to be a great gun. I also wanted something nice to look at and to be proud of so I went with a new set of parallel target stock and forend from Cole. I installed (myself) adjustable comb hardware from gracoil and a few other goodies like a gel tek pad, trigger shoe, recoil reducer etc. To top it off, I had Moneymaker Guncraft do a barrel job with an adjustable rib so I can adjust my POI between games. Believe it or not I have been too busy to shoot it yet...maybe tomorrow

Absolutely scrumptious!

How did you get the wood to Canada? Did Cole just mail it up? I've salivated over some of the pictures on their website but wondered if I'd have to do the export permit dance to get stocks up here.

And if you are too busy to shoot it I will be happy to help you out.;)
 
Thanks for the compliments guys! As for the wood, I called Cole and they said because it was "wood" and not metal that there would be no problems shipping it here...but I did have it shipped to a relative in the U.S. who brought it up one weekend...they billed me here in Canada though. There is some beutiful wood on that site and it shows much nicer in the sun than it does in their pictures. It is AAA grade parallel target style.
 
I took it out to the grease board this afternoon. It shoots just like the guys at Moneymaker said it would! There are 5 separate POI's and I was impressed at the way they changed with one click. At its lowest it is 40/60 and its highest its 90/10...for me anyway. I shot a quick round of skeet too and it worked as smooth as glass...(I dropped a few though). The high rib will take a little getting used to. Can't wait to get it out for trap!
 
Popcan, yes, I am finding it a bit different with the higher rib. I have set the comb and like the way the gun points, but since I have shot drop stock guns for so long I still find myself hesitating when mounting to shoot. In trap it is not an issue since the gun is pre-mounted. It is more comfortable when shooting heavy hitting shells though. I have only put about 125 shells through it so far...need about 1000 more!
 
very funny John:rolleyes: :p I have had her out to shoot both trap and skeet and I feel I have it dialed in the way I like it. Broke a 25 in trap last Saturday right off the biff and did back to back 24's in skeet on Sunday. All this with just a click of the rib! I am VERY happy with this build and would recommend it to anyone, especially ones who tend to be recoil sensitive. It is the softest 12 ga clays gun I have ever shot.
