Hey guys, I just thought id post a picture of my new deer hunting set-up for this fall. I just bought a brand new Marlin 336C in 30-30 made by Remington in the Ilion NY factory. I myself have owned two JM stamped Marlins made in approx 2007 and 2010 and I can say the fit/finish on them were horrible and they were very rough to cycle the lever. This Marlin made by Remington is very nice although I did hand inspect it myself before I bought it, wood to metal fit/finish is excellent and it is super smooth. The only thing I can say I don't like about it is the checkering on the wood isn't nearly as nice and it looks like they installed the rear sling stud with a air ratchet.

Other than that I am actually happier with this "Remlington" than 2 New Haven CT Marlins though those were at the height of the Marlin nosedive. I will say if you are in the market for a new Marlin 336 you MUST handle and inspect the physical rifle you are going to buy. I handled a 336C in .35 Rem that was sub par fit/finish and not even close to as nice as the 30-30 I got. Here she is, a Remlington 336C in 30-30 with a EGW Gun Works picatinny rail and a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight. Its a quick and fast deer gun for the bush and I hope to bag a nice buck with it this fall. Cheers

Beauty! I just bought a 336 in 30-30. Gonna install the cross bolt safety delete from beartoth merchantile... Really don't like the cross bolt DOUBLE safety...

Cheers
Jay

Where did you get the rail? I've been looking for something like that myself. Right now I've got a Zeiss Terra 3-9x42 on my 336, but my intent had been something similar to what you've got.
