My new Deuce 2.0

Gillis, if your venturing into PRS I would have a look at the Lapua variants designed for distance. I had a few bricks of the Super Long Range and it was very consistent! Group averages are much smaller than anything else from 150 and beyond. The Long Range grade was also excellent but not quite as good. The only other one I had success with was the SK Long Range Match. I had cases of it in a very good lot but have depleted it down to just a few boxes. Aquiring quality ammo is the big problem. The Lapua and SK are very hard to aquire. I switched to Eley Semi Auto Benchrest and started using my semi again!

Hi all,
I posted this on RFC some time ago but I forgot to post it here, so here I go:
I recently bought a new Deuce 2.0 barrelled action and put in a Manners PRS stock. Topped it with the new March PRS scope.
Those who know me will be a bit surprised as I mainly ventured in BR in the past but I have a close shooting buddy who has begun PRS rimfire competitions some time ago and now swears by it so I will see if I like it. Though, i will surely keep an interest in BR.
This winter I have tried this new Deuce 2.0 only a bit to get a feel of the action and ergonomics of the stock I have choosen. SO far, I am impressed. Today was the first day I did serious ammo testing both at 50 and 100 yards. I tried one lot of center X, one lot of Midas and one lot of Xact. The cheaper center X did better at both distances. I will be doing more tests in the forthcoming weeks and should publish targets.
Best regards to all.
Gilbert
Fine piece of gear there, Gilbert. I’m sure it will impress you. Looking forward to seeing some targets. We’re finding it difficult to get any decent Lapua or SK ammo here on the east coast. Keeping our eyes open. Cheers,
V

Yes Volker, you are right. Lapua ammo has been quite hard to get for some months now. Hope the supplies get back soon.

You are right my friend ! I had several communications with Ryan at ibi and he is the best. Always responds quickly and takes the time to explain everything patiently, which is a good thing, as I am not always the sharpest tool in the shed :)

Ryan is a genuinely solid guy. I’ve been at a ton of matches with Ryan and he has always been great with shooting tips and barrel info for my next build. That’s why I have 4 IBI barrelled rifles and they are all shooters.

Just got my Deuce/IBI build, can't use it, no adjustable mags to be found anywhere it seems
So clarify this for me. You purchased a custom barreled action and it doesnt come with a mag and you cant purchase one from the supplier you aquired the gun from?

that's it.
Yeah I wouldnt be a happy camper with that!! Laying out that kind of money and not being able to feed the beast would seriously sour me on them. Kindah tough shootin a match with an open bottomed single shot!!

:ROFLMAO:

I know it's a bummer, but like every other stores in Canada they ran out of mags. I thought I'd find one before the snow is gone here.
Well lets move on and hear about your build!! It is a pain but you can actually still shoot it to see how awesome it is and find out what it likes to eat. Have heard lots of great things about your rifle.

On another note, will a Vudoo mag work on your gun? I have a bunch and would be willing to loan you two with you returning them when you can aquire yours.

I run the Deuce 2 also .I got it a few months ago and all 6 of my Vudoo mags run flawlessly. They were all modded according to Ryans video for my first Gen Deuce. They are both in the ACC Gen 2 chassis with an added adjustable mag catch. The stinger mag also works well too.
