My NEW duck boat, a LOWE 1440M & Honda 4 stroke 9.9HP outboard

I Bought my first jon back in the mid 80s a 12 foot lowe and then in 1992 I bought a new 1448M with a 25hp merc ran the crap out of it broke 3ribs back in 1997 (never hit a thing) Lowe paid for the repair and then in 2000 split the left side of the bow 8inch rip again never hit a thing,(OK only know one speed wide open) called Lowe and they asked for pictures and they paid to have it fixed also.Used that boat until 2006 and then Bought Lowe 1752D Roughneck The Best they make All Welded.I was looking for that model for years and when I had the funds I found one it was a no current 2004 added a 40HP Tiller Merc Wish it would have been a Honda Not enough money at the time.(Should have sold a couple of more guns) and also added a avery pop up blind. The old 1448 I sold to another hunter and he is still using it.Before I bought it I looked at the wareagles Way over priced and no dealers in Ontario,I also looked at the Trackers but the specs are not even close to the Rougneck. The 1752D has a split bench (Either side at the back) and then a seat running right up the middle of the boat so when hunting you can shot from either side,This is something a duck hunter must have thought of it is outstanding. The seat is also a storge box to keep your guns in.I have been running this one on the Bay and Lake Ontario every year until the end of Dec.I Still have a Little Jon 10 Footer also Made by Lowe and I use sometime to tow behind loaded with decoys or if we have a early freeze up and brack ice and pull it lalong the shore.
The Lowe jons have been a great boat for me and the corp has been good also and that is what counts.See if Bass pro Would help after 8 years with a big issue.

Good Luck Hunting with your new Jon

Hey Guys, I got the boat back from the dealership. Valves tuned, carb cleaned & idle adjusted, and the regular maintenance of new plugs, fuel filter, oil and gear oil. I also picked up a new gas tank & line and a 10 pitch, 3 blade prop. The old prop now becomes the "emergency" prop...

Huntress & I hit the water and the top speed Wing Nut II gets now is between 35 and 36 km/h. That's up from 32 km/h, so I am happy! Not bad for a 9.9 HP & 14 foot flat bottom boat...

A note for future reference... "Launching" your significant other 2 feet into the air by hitting the wake of another boat WAY TOO FAST, is a BAD idea... I had to buy Huntress a "I'm sorry" ice cream... I'm just glad she was not hurt, she landed on her back in the boat... Bad Jay, BAD!!!

Cheers
Jay
