My new GP100

My most recent was my SP101 .22lr.

Straight out of the box, it had scratches going against the satin grains.

The grooves on the barrel top strap were uneven.

And lots of machine marks on the firing pin face.

I miss Ruger of the past....ho hum.

Yeah, I got my SP101 and was heartbroke to see a deep gouge running through one of the lands about 1" from the muzzle end (No Idea how it made it out of the factory.)

UPDATE: It was fixed under WARRANTY and the barrel actually looks better than others I've seen. Ruger really needs to up their QA. Happy now though. Selling it now just 'cause. :p

I haven't even looked down the barrel, I was just happy that cosmetically it looked good. I'll take a more thorough look tomorrow!

i picked up a GP100 couple years back, flawless. built like a tank and drives tacks.
i know the 10/22 i picked up last year wasn't near as nice as some of the other ones ive picked up over the years, im even embarrassed to say that ill not be buying a new 10/22 again but would rather buy a old one or build my own again like the last 2 i did.
but both my SR1911 are flawless. thats both the full sized and the CMD.
now ive for a SP101-22 in the mail coming to me and you guys have me all worried!!!
ive never been one to be worried about scratches and such but im the first to admit that QC at ruger seems to have slipped over the last 2 years.
but from my recent picks i thought it was corrected.
now im gonna be going over my new one when it arrives with a magnifying glass!

Who cares about a tiny little imperfection, it's not anywhere close to what I'd consider an investment type firearm and your gonna end up scratching it accidentally and putting all sorts of imperfections in it over the next few years.

Shoot it and enjoy it or sell it to me for half what you paid and I'll give it some lovin. :p
