After a 7 month wait, I am finally able to take my Colt's Dragoon to the range.
I have four other black powder revolvers all in 44cal. but this is special. I wanted a Walker but those on the market sold the minute they were available. Never the less it is a beautiful firearm. Sorry I can't post pictures.

Nice pistol! I just got my first black powder pistol after a 8 month wait, it’s my first.
It’s not a Colt though ( I wish lol), it’s a Taylor 1860 Army .44.

Now I just have to figure out how to shoot it lol

Got .45 Colt dies , ammo , so maybe a conversion or ball caps and powder.

Thinking both , that way ,whatever shows up first gets me shooting

Almost bought a walker during the panic but the wife wanted a different thing Waiting on my first black powder guns now a pair of colt navy revolvers I can’t wait to get them

You bought a cap and ball use it as a cap and ball my thoughts. I have a fair number, few hints to make it more enjoyable.
1 get a 100count plastic cartridge box and pre measure your charges at home, 30-30 and 40sw work great as a charge holder and cap.
2 melt crisco in the microwave and suck up into a plastic syringe princess auto has them cheap. Over loaded cylinder To prevent chainfire. Keep warm in winter or else a little stiff.
3 break slide pin grease works great on the arbour.
4 make a wedge pusher from 1/2 hardwood dowel carved down like a flathead screwdriver just smaller then wedge, no Hammer needed and no scuffs or scratches
5 cast your own projectiles, good beer drinking activity.
6 make a cap seater from 1/4 dowel don't put fingers in line of fire. As well to prevent chainfire
7 clean arbour every 3 cylinders full with moose milk or your preferred range juice. And re grease
8 Never clean with boiling hot water you will cause flash rust.

A replica Dragoon was on my wishlist, didn't find one in time. There didn't seem to be many black powder revolvers available when the rush kicked in.

Mine happens to be a Colt authorized repro, unfortunately I didn't receive the original packaging with the gun.
After a little polishing of the brass with Nevr-Dull to a brilliant shine I'm almost hesitant to fire it. Almost!
I'm going to start with 35gns.of Triple 7 and Hornady .454 round balls and work may way up.
I'm fortunate to still have several hundred caps left so I can shoot for a while yet.

Here is the OP's new toy!
