For those that don't frequent the edged tools forum, you may not know that we have a top-notch sheath maker right here at CGN: SBranson23

Stuart worked with me to come up with this sheath design to bring together the knife (Busse SAR4) and Gut Hook (Buck). The sheath is set up so the knife is carried higher on my belt and closer to my body than most of the "dangly" sheaths that come from the factories, a perfect setup for the rock ridges and boreal up here.

Anyway, here's some eye candy for ya :)

Well....the knife itself would be hard to source, as Busse kind of does things a little weird. He'll do a run of a model and then that's it. That said, they are available "used", priced 350-400

The ring is a standard Buck, LL bean sells them (around 20 bucks)

The sheath: Sbranson23 makes them to order.....you choose the type of leather, closure, ride, tilt, design, etc. etc. etc......whatever you want, a true custom job.

Cost on the sheaths is extremely reasonable.....too cheap IMO :) I can't quote the price as I really don't know what it was (we did a trade/package deal), but I CAN say that if you get a quote from him you will likely reply with "Seriously?" The pricing really is that good :D

Tough leather, simple, clean and smart design, I like it!
Skinned the leg of Davey's ram in hopes of making a sheath for my great Grampa's knife. Not sure how to make it but it will have that rustic frontiersman look for certain. Hope I can get it to look nice as yours does.

Thanks for the pics.
