My new hunting rig, Tikka T3x

I dont need a 22" long rifle since I won't shoot game over 300 yards ever. And Velocity between 22" and 18" on .308 isn't worth talking about. Tikka should offer these lightweight in 20" threaded.

They also sell a 308 laminated stainless with a 510mm (20") barrel, that's why I was a bit confused.

Does the Mtn Tactical mags feed reliably? I tried one and the rounds tilted and the bolt would slide over the case head.

Did you get a chance to measure the gap between the objective lens and the barrel with the Warne medium rings?

Im running factory mags. Havent even tried it yet tho ! :)

I tried to find one and they seem to be vapourware...lol...

I agree with the 20 inch barrel, it’s very handy when your walking through the thick Ontario woods. I have a T3 in 308 in the way that will be taking a trip to the local smith for that very reason

The Cadex CDX-30 I used to have had a 18.5 :) Seemed fined all the way out to 500yards with 178 grn. And looking at the NZ forums guys are cutting these back to 16" suppressed and they look amazing.

Nice! What are your thoughts on the parts?

That bottom metal is extremely nice. But the price they sell it for I wouldn't expect any less... The Replacement screws are also worth it.

DILLAGAF - Since I installed the Mtn Tactical bottom metal I don't have the problem with the factory mags seeming to be locked into place but actually were not (and causing feeding problems).

Only tested at home not in the field but it is quite obvious to me the real metal bottom has sorted it out. I no longer have to rock the mag into place fore and aft to get it to lock properly.

Instead of spending a ton on a new trigger, look into the yodave trigger springs. I changed them on my wife's old tikka and they made a HUGE difference in trigger weight.

Well my DNZ mount showed up today, and my 3 spare mags. Now im just waiting on my brake to get my barrel chopped down :) This is by far the nicest hunting rig I have ever put together.

4 mags ? What you hunting? Squirrels.. ha ha

4 mags is my minimum with any of my rifles. Heck I even have 4 mags for my SVT40. The only rifle I have 2 mags for is my Egyptian Rasheed and thats because I havent seen one and from what ive read they are none. I even have 3 for my VZ52/57, I used to have 4 for that one as well but I helped out a guy how didnt have any for his 52/57 and sold one since I have a big heart and he gave me 100$ for it :)

Me and my buddy go moose and beer hunting every year( he’s retired mil)
We bring at least 100 rnds each with us.. you never know. Ha ha

Well FML, Brownells now carries the KRG trigger and today they had spend 250$ and get 30$ off promo.

It ends up at 269$ so I had to order it...lol...

The TacOps stock pack just came in from Brownells. Im surprised how well made it is. Nothing like those cheap no name POS I used to get.

Late for the party...

You can't go wrong with Tikka's.

I shot few over the years and if you do your party and if you use quality ammo, they will do cloverleaf groups every time at 100m - no upgrades needed. My only suggestion, based on reading thousands of your posts, don't go full retard with upgrades accessories, keep it light! :)
