My new MAK tube gun in 308

Well after almost a year to get the parts and the money, im happy to introduce to you all my new pride and joy :)

Now here are the details for the one who might care :)

MAK tube gun chassis with 5 rds mag
REM 700 action ( trued by Juanvaldez )
Shillen barrel 1/12 twist straight contour 18 inches finished (Juanvaldez did the work too and i forgot the thx Jerry from mystic precision for getting the barrel!)
Shilen trigger
PRS buttstock
ERGO tactical grip with palm rest
Leupold LRT 6.5-20 X 50mm (not in the picture, coming in the mail soon )

Obviously she is front heavy but i didnt build her for hunting :) so with a bipod or a rest its going to be all good!

So this is it...start to smell like range time :)

Well.......? Range report.
Have an Eliseo tube stock, waiting for a Defiance receiver, ordered seven months ago. Your "short barreled" pictures altered the direction I was going with my build.

Great looking rifle, thanks for posting pictures.

I haven't forgot about you guys for a range report. I'm still waiting for my BORS system, and the rings, so i bought a pair of Leupold ring yesterday...the scope should be on the rifle today, and if the weather cooperate, i should be able to get the first range report tomorrow. People who live on Vancouver island or the greater Vancouver are aware what i mean when im talking about crappy weather ;)

I went the short barrel route, because I am not planning to shoot at 1000Yds...500 is what im planning to be the furthest i will shoot so after reading i cam to the conclusion that the lost of velocity of a short barrel is not big, and based on the contour of my barrel...shorter=lighter=no as much weight for the action to support

It will get to 1000 yds with a 20 MOA base. You haven't lost anything choosing a short barrel.
