My new Marauder build

Hi Guys,

Yeah, I know... There has been a few of these in the past, and a couple years ago I built a Marauder, known then as the Nomad, but I ended up selling it, or actually trading it for a .308 Mossberg Nighttrain. Which I totally regretted! I had a awesome DLASK 12.5" .920 barrel, and all the good stuff in that build! Well since then I bought an H&K SL8, and wanted to have a baby rimfire to it, so I sourced out a Marauder from here, and am proceeding to re-build it....

For now, Im doing a new paint scheme on it, and will have the factory barrel shortened and re threaded to 14mm CCW to accepy a flash hider for the quick dis connect MadBull Gemtech G5 suppressor. I had a short aluminum fore arm left from my last build that will go on it, and had got a full length SL8 upper rail which I was going to shorten and put on it, but it turns out its actually the same height as the shorter stock marauder rail, so I'll just re-sell it here in the EE..... Im also looking at the 110 rnd GSG drum mag(s) for it ;-)

I will eventually put a different stock on it, but for now the folder will do. I'm looking at a HK (copy) adjustable AirSoft stock.Here is a picture I just took, ots a mock up with the barrel in it, factory length. What you guys think of the paint scheme so far?

(b) a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted,
(ii) is 660 mm or greater in length and has a barrel less than 457 mm in length,

My understanding is if you get it shortened from its current length, you'll be making your rifle prohibited.
 
Good point Chem. I'm not sure of the original length of the bbl. I think if it is 18.5" he can lop off just enough to put that 14mm CCW thread on it and still be compliant.

Ginnz, I like the tan with black accents. Someone did a tight job masking around the faux selector and casing deflector (?). I re-painted mine in green, and I'm still not happy. I think CADPAT will be next.

If you are on the fence about 14mm CCW and 1/2x28, check out Amazon.com and search for fake silencers. I got a shroud and an extension from one of the sellers there, threaded in 1/2x28.

What? So if I DONT shorten the barrel, AND pin the stock, it will stay "Non Restricted"? Ok....

I WISH I would have kept the 12.5" DLASK .920 I bought for my last build! Damn that was a fine barrel. And to the guy asking about the painting. Yeah, I masked it off. It turned out OK. So far its just mocked up. I figure there will be a bunch of stuff i change my mind over yet.... And AirsoftParts Canada sent me an email, stating my Gemtech G5 is on it's way.

Now I just need to order the GSG 110 RND Drum mag. I also have a different stock in mind. Stay tuned. ;-)

if you shorten the barrel below 457mm (18 inches) that will make it a prohibited rifle. If you put a barrel that was manufactured less than 18 inches that will allow it to maintain its non restricted status as long as the rifle remains 660mm or more in length in the folded position you're fine. If not then pin the stock and go as short with the barrel as you like. Makes no sense, but it is the way it is.
