my new moose gun, or anything

I'm probably going out on a limb but I would dare say a moose that when field dressed weighs 1000lbs would be on the exceptional size anywhere. Going off a formula a few biologists I know use a moose field dressed to 1000lbs would be around 1200-1300lbs on the hoof. Correct me if I'm wrong but that seems above average for most places not just New Brunswick, while I have seen a few Moose in this province that would go over that they're few and far between and any area that has produced 3 that large must have exceptional moose habitat. Congratulations and your .338 sounds like great moose medicine.
If you are interested in parting with it and its right handed PM me.

Oh my God Johnn, no scope or belted magnum and you still got it done! how??

Ya I know. ;)Taking risks and 'living on the edge' I guess:). An improvement, using the Marlin 444 in those last two photos, was going to handloads using the 265gr FP Hornady. A considerable improvement over my experiences with the original factory 240gr 'performances'.

I'm really into the 338 as a moose gun but in the Montreal area I don't find many 338wm rifles or cartridges, I keep looking but availability of ammo is a problem. I don't reload nor do I know anybody who reloads either so that's out. I fell in love with a Tikka laminated stainless rifle at the hunting and fishing show last year she just felt perfect in my hands, it fit me too damn well...

Please tell me something I don't know, instead of everything I do f:P:

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but this seems like a pretty ignorant comment.
You made a comment, I replied, and this it what you have to say back?

It sounds like you know everything already so I'm not even sure why im typing this.

I know this is the internet, but we try to keep this a fairly civil place, so if you don't have something constructive then move along.

can't, I kind of like thumbhole stocks, and yes the moose are way bigger in the northwest, and just finished all of my crown royal, good night
