My new No.1A in .303 british showed up today!

No.1

Hope it's of some value to you and:) nice to have met you at the show in Duncan this morning. Contrary to usual, I came away relatively unscathed. I picked up a box of Norma 7x61 S&H Super ammo plus a couple of Weaver pivot scope mount bases. Spent less than $100.oo, which for me, shows a lot of control:p.

Oh, that custom Ruger No. 1 at the show sure was pretty. Excellant wood.

Saw that custom No.1 Johnn, the one with the express sights that Vern had on his table. What was the price and caliber?

:redface:In all honesty, I'm not sure as it isn't an item I'm in the market for. I had arranged to meet johnnybear for an introduction at the show and after meeting, he mentioned there was supposedly a custom No. 1 there but I hadn't noticed it on my first quick pass through. A while back I had scanned some No. 1 info and sent it to jb. That I got from a friend who had a table at the show who also has a small collection of No. 1's. I thought if there was a custom No. 1 there, he would know about it, which he did and directed us to it. I didn't do a close up of the rifle but the nicely figured quality of the wood was easy to recognize, even at a distance.

I bought a Hicks off Vern and I was talking to him a bit about the custom and I believe he said it was chambered in .338-06. I was scared to ask the price:redface::)

Got my Woodleigh's a couple of days ago:)!

Nice rifle, real pretty wood. Is it only me or do others think the No.1 would look so much better without that hideous banded front sight? I think a smaller long ramp British style would set off the styling of the No.1 much better.

If you click on the Corlanes link you'll see that they have some Woodleigh bullets on sale. I believe the prices on the whole line have been reduced. The perfect chance for a deal on some FMJ's for your .700 NE.
