My new Norico M-14's problem

I'll pitch in. I have the exact same problem. Insert a full 5/20 mag...shoot five times, click! It does not hold the bolt back on the last shot. BUT if I pull back on the bolt with an empty mag it it will hold the bolt open. However when I release the mag the bolt will come slamming forward and scare the bejesus outta me haha. The odd time it will stay held open until the lightest bump. I can take a picture and video if that will help?

You think it is ok?
I always feed the bullets from the top of the gun.
If the bolt slam forward,it will eat my fingers!
I don't like that at all and I want to fix it.

Its alright. It isn't the best thing. I wish I could hold the bolt open on command. I'm not sure if its something that can be fixed with a new bolt release or if the reciever is messed up. I am hoping it can be fixed with a new bolt release (NEA oversized maybe? eh? eh? Haha)

Right now I just shoot until I am empty. Change mags. Pull bolt back. Release. Shoot.

Its more of an annoyance than a BIG deal I feel

Any chance your op rod spring guide has been fitted upside down and your mags aren't secured properly? I had better be more specific.

First, I realize the guide bump is there to make it goof proof, but I've seen guys who are too quick to grind something off rather than turn a part around and try to place it in a different order or direction.

Second, we hear many, possibly misinformed, complaints about the quality of these guns. We don't know how automated the plant is. The OP's part may have been stamped wrong at the factory. It is possible that the stock flat spring guides are punch pressed in two separate operations, the long oval holes first, then the single angled pin hole later. This could even be done at a separate machine by a different operator and fed in backwards. I know, it seems far fetched but Russian workers are famous for their vodka intake. Who knows what the Chinese workers do. My 305 passed inspection with the front sight screw missing!

And yes, CanAmmo is taking care of it. Good luck to the OP in getting the rifle working.
