I purchased this pistol a few months ago but decided not to post about it until I have shot it and I finnaly got my ATT last week.

It is a Norinco Tokarev chambered in 7.62x25 I paid $505 Canadian and it came with 2280 rounds of ammunition. The ammo was shipped via loomis and the pistol came in a snikers box. Canada post stuffed it in between the two doors on my house even though the box had a very large sticker that said signature required and I was home the entire time.

I found the holster on ebay for $25.

I took it out on wednesday and put 40 rounds through it and I am pretty sure my over excited hands accounted for the fact that I hardly hit the target at 20 yards.
It points better than you would expect with the odd grip angle. The 7.62 TT round is nice and loud I want to take some pictures in the dark to capture the large muzzle flash.

Here is one for all the HK fanboys. Getting the round to stay in there backwards was a #####.

This is the other pistol that I will have as soon as I get it transfered.

Neither the gun, nor the ammo contribute to accuracy. They are fun plinkers, never meant to be a target pistol.
That Czech ammo is corrosive so clean accordingly.

Yeah not a bad deal for the price.

Its not really that hard to clean I pour a litre of boiling water down the barrel and give the rest a through wipe down and it is done in minutes.

I also have a Nork Tok, i like the bastard. the 7.62 x 25 round is very fun to shoot, it produce a lot of flames. The finish of the pistol is fugly, the front sight is only a chunk of metal that as been left in place during machining of the slide. But there is one thing, the gun function flawlessly. I never had a malfunction with it, and i fired a few different brands of ammo in this. Of course this is not intended as a combat pistol like we are used to, i think it was more intended for communist officer to shoot, point blank, the bad soldier to make an example. Ergonomy is also crappy compared to a 45.

None the less, it is still IMHO the best, fun / price ratio you can find for a brand new pistol...

Well after putting 80 rounds through it and hitting very little I think next weekend ill have to give it a go at 10 yards instead of 20 to see were it is hiting so I can adjust my point of aim. However it worked flawlessley with not a single failure of any kind.

Mine was very inaccurate, but the blessing was that it was so unreliable as to save me from spending too much on ammo. I spent so much time trying to get it to cycle properly that I didn't have a whole lot of time to shoot it.

To be fair, mine was Chinese manufacture and this was probably 15 years ago. I bought it dirt cheap back when Toks and SKS's were flooding the American market, and didn't have much invested in it. I sold it to a friend of mine who was a firearms instructor and I think he got a gunsmith friend to work on it and finally got it to being reliable. I don't know about any improvement in accuracy.

Mine was 9mm.

Best Wishes
JP :D

Helno,

Great to hear about your new pistol, sounds like fun! By all means place the target closer; at least at first. 7 yards is not too close, in fact this is a common "defensive shooting" practice distance. I hope you really enjoy your Tokarev. Great review of your experience so far. 8)

Best wishes, Jeff/1911.

mine's worn the 9mm barrel since i got it- i got it to replace my beretta 92- worked just fine after i ran 4 boxes of factory through it- it hangs up once in a while when i use 124 gr.round nose, but 130s sizzle right through- and both mags, to boot

I don't understand? Why put a round in backwards?

Lst year's catalogue for the HK handguns had a mag on the cover with the rounds put in backwards  Stupid photographers.

As for the Tok, the safety is a half-#### notch like on a lever action rifle.
