My "new" Remington 721 in .30-06...Beautiful! **PICS ADDED, Finally...*

Hi Folks,

Well, I finally gave in to the temptation I first felt a couple weeks ago when I visited P&D here in Edmonton...

I saw this rifle on the used rack there and have been back twice to look at it. It's a model 721 that has perfect wood, and gorgeous bluing. It's wearing a one piece Leupold base and Leupold rings. It has a perfectly fitted Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad on it and the factory open sights. The trigger is really nice.

I guess what got me thinking again about this rifle was listing and selling a model 722 in .244 recently for my hunting buddy, and while doing so markeling over the lustre of these old rifles.

I can't wait to see how this one shoots. I'll be mounting Leupold 3-9 compact scope on it tonight I have waiting at home.

These are great rifles!! I have one in 30-06 that wears a modified M700 stock with a floorplate, and one with a Pepper laminate BDL stock that has been rebarrelled in 6.5x55AI Usually very accurate, and I love the 24" blued barrel that most have. Enjoy! Eagleye.

I used to have the self same rifle, but the wood broke long time ago. Make sure you don't over tighten the rear floor plate screw, trust me!!

Mine was a great shooter, only liked 180's but it liked them LOTS!!

I have one in 30-06 as well. It is extremely accurate and I've kept it for 20 years so what's that tell you!!!

It would win a prize for the gun that I've owned the longest....I mean it......literally!

We found one in 300H&H, just like what Nuggets Grampa used in Afrika for plains game. Not nearly as nice as yours but after a touch up on the stock it will be pretty.

What is the going rate on a 721 so we know what a fair price to pay is?

I used to have a 721 in .243 - not as nice as your though. I like your scope and low mount rings. A very nice setup indeed.

This one was $450 plus tax...I thought that was just fine, considering it's condition.
