My new rifle - my heart is all aflutter

I just received this photo of my build and I sure wanted to share it with you. To think I have to wait another ten days to pick it up will add up to long days and sleepless nights.

The stock is off a Remington Tactical. It was pillar bedded from the factory. I have a Bushnell 2.5 - 16 to mount on it.

It is purdy! Will this be a long range target rig? Just asking because it seems a tad heavy as a walkaround hunting rifle, in that caliber anyway's.

I will probably sight it in for 200 metres and try it at 300 yards but mainly to have a very accurate hunting rifle. Weight is probably in the same range as my other rifles. I have a Bushnell 6500 - 2.5 to 16 power for it so with bipod and sling . . . 10 pounds.

This is my first build, and it was relatively easy to convince me I needed another rifle.

Stamped .260 Remington.
A Shilen #4 contour.
I have some 120 Bergers, 130 Barnes, and 140 Sierra's.

The 125 gr partition is a fantastic hunting bullet in the 260/6.5x55, a nice full case of H4350 equals dead whitetail to WAY out there.
