My NEW rifle

The reason I asked is that my rifle is marked as SG550-2 SP, it has a bayonet lug, flash suppressor, iron sights etc and I can't see any visible differences betwen that and what you call a PE 90. Just one of those wee things I've wondered what the difference is.

The Swiss Arms rifles we have in Canada are an entirely different animal, enough so to be considered a divergent design since the 550 and its semiautomatic variants are all prohibited. Ignore the markings, you'll also find the upper receiver back plate that's exposed when you fold the stock to have a "PE 90" stamped into it, but it is technically not a PE 90 either.
 
I just ordered a Black special target model.
The price is high on these things, but everyone raves about them. I was looking at one in the local gunshop and I have to say, it's a very well thought out firearm. Also the action feels like it was made like a Swiss watch. Very nice work.

That's funny about the Wikipedia article. Because I did read that before making my decision to buy one of these. :D
