My new Ruger GP100 6"... pic heavy

Very nice wheel gun. Great pictures of it as well.

The stainless GP100 is on my "wish list" for sure. Too many guns and not enough money.:(

Looking forward to the range report.

Cheers.

I'm debating on 686 or GP100 myself right now. How is the trigger on the ruger? Both single action and double action. I've been told that it is night and day between the Smith and the Ruger, but I take that with a grain of salt because so many people are brandwashed.

Factory trigger on the Ruger is not as nice as a S&W. That being said I've played with an associates GP-100 that has a scary smooth & light DA trigger pull of 6lbs of so.

I have two, one with a Wolf spring kit. The trigger pulls were pretty good to begin with, but with the spring kit they are most excellent. I've only used a SW686 before and not in side by side comparison, but I will say that I was pleased but not impressed with the 686. To me I think they are the same gun, but the GP 100 costs less. By the way I am assuming that we are talking about modern production guns as I understand there was a temporary problem with the 686's with forcing cones and frames, but has long been fixed.

All things being equal, it is pretty obvious what I think. I have two GP 100's and no S&Ws. (Let the flames begin!) :D :ninja:

I have always really liked my 686 and my new python is a class act. But I just bought a security six for the hell of it. Gonna be interesting to see how they compare.
