I just got my new pistol in...a Ruger SR9 in OD green. I went to my local gun store Gobles and paid for it Monday and to my surprize I was called Tuesday to come pick it up! Pretty awesome for Ontario!!! Anyway this is my fav 9mm so I am glad to finally have it :) The only things I have done to it so far is flip the back strap over so its flat and I took out a magazine safety...very quick and easy to do. I also plan on getting a Ghost Trigger reset bar (#3.5) and a full metal guide rod once I find the site that sells them again and possbily some nights sights IF they come adjustable.

It came with just 2 mags...

They are easy enough to get up here and most stores should be able to order you some if they don't have them stock. For a holster I am gonna go with a 5.11 hip one...about $35 at DS Tactical.

I can't say enough about this gun! Ambi safety...a TRUE ambi mag release, changeable back strap, stock adjustable 3 dot sights...for both windage and elavation, loaded chamber indacator and you can see the stiker out when holding it in the shooting position so you know its ready to go.

Also this gun has the NICEST natural grip out of ANY pistol I have ever held...which is alot.

Congratulations! The SR9 is really an excellent gun, and mine was 100 percent reliable regardless of what I put through it.

I really did like the SR9 and no doubt it has a really comfortable grip. The question is how does it point?

Just holding it in my hand my G17 feels much worse than my former SR9 but at the range the Glock is an extension of my arm and points so naturally.

I really think people are overly concerned with how it feels, more than how it works.

Nice.. the black on OD looks really slick. I'm a big fan of the SR9 as well. Good price, a lot of bang for the buck

I'll let you know after I put some rounds down range. As for Glocks...no matter how hard I tried I couldn't hit #### with them. Not a Glock hater...just they are not for me.

Be careful then. The trigger on the SR9 is very similar. ;)

It just takes some getting used to though. I think everyone who shoots a Glock the first while shoots left. Just like anything else, practice, practice, practice!

What other handguns do you own?

My biggest issue was that my first guns were a GP100 which I shot in single action only and a Norc 1911 with trigger work.

Trying to go from those triggers to the Glock took lots of practice! LOL

To complement the Ghost ultimate reset bar I ordered a new striker spring from Ruger and removed two coils from the spring. You will no believe to trigger when you are finished. Even with the modified spring installed and after 1500 rnds no FTF or function concerns.

I USED to have a M&P9...liked it alot and shot it really well...just wanted a SR9 more lol.

Our local shop has the Rugers in black & OD green. I admit the OD looks very cool.

As for the M&P's one in .45ACP looks very interesting.

NAA.

Congrads on your new gun. I held and was thinking about buying that gun a few weeks ago. But i had just purchased a baby eagle and left it there for some lucky guy. Nice gun you got. :D

nice gun but was never a fan of the OD green, it appears to be really popular though, certainly will sell alot quicker then a black one, if you ever decide to sell it.
