Well, it's not NEW, but it is new to me.:)

Smith and Wesson Model 469, compact 9mm. 3.5 inch barrel, fixed outline sights, and bobbed hammer. Picked it up from a CGN member via the EE and received it last week. I've put about 150 rounds of 9mm 124 gr. reloads through it so far during IDPA style shooting.

It's very easy to get on target, and far more accurate than I expected. While the sights are low profile, they are easy to acquire. It's an all steel pistol so it's comfortable to shoot with minimal muzzle jump. It does have the typical loooong S&W trigger pull, but I don't find it to be too noticeable. Of course, all my DA auto's are Smiths, so I'm used to it.

And a family pic with my other Smiths, all 12(6).

If you're happy with it that's the main thing... ;)

I had a 469 a number of years ago with the factory 'Delrin' grips. Double action trigger pull was so lousy it was almost like you had to book an appointment for it to discharge. Didn't keep mine long, mostly because of that. Never really been a fan of the second generation S&W autos ever since. :(

The little S&W autos are quite accurate I've found. I like the single stacks, 39, 3904, 3913.
Extremely accurate for their 3.5" barrel. They shoot better than some of my full size guns. I also feel that they have one of the smoothest double action pull.

I had a 3913 once, too. Now that was a slick little 9mm auto. Even if it was a S&W... lol... :D

Are you sure the frame is made of steel? I have a mod 469 and the frame is made of aluminium. I bought it used and the previous owner must have driven it hard because after 3 years of owning it, and not that much shooting, the frame cracked around the slide lever. It's been sitting in my safe since then.

Frame is aluminum unless its a stainless gun which it is not by the looks of it. I had one also and I never warmed up to it, so I swapped it to a OPP member up for his NIB 2.5" 686 which I liked a lot better.

I think it was S&W's attempt to cash in on the "chopped and channelled" craze started by Devel and ASP.

I was mistaken, should have taken a closer look at it. It is alloy framed. It's got a heavier feel to it than my 39, so I assumed it was steel.
