Now I just got to find someone with some Leupold scout scopes in stock.

I wanted a bolt action in 7.62x39 and was even more interested when I saw I could get it in a scout package!

Short range wolf, varmint, and deer rifle... I got around 500 rounds of hornady SST and PPU ammo to try her out with!

Congrats! I like that little cartridge..........great for the bush hunting deer.

I take it you won't be using surplus corrosive ammo- good call. I've got an older version of the same rifle in .308 and I really like it. I use a Leupold 2.5x scout scope on it and can keep in inside 2 inches at 100 yards if I'm shooting well. Does yours have the accustock?

Thx guys and to answer some of the questions posted.

yes this has accu stock and accu trigger.

I will try the peep sight but I am looking for a leupold scout scope so maybe I will just use QD rings for the best of both worlds...

I will not be putting corrosive ammo into her... don't care how cheap it is that what $100SKS are for.

Comes with 4 round detachable mag.

I already have a new Ruger 308 scout rifle, and while it would seem to Cooper and most of the world 308 is the ideal scout caliber, for the bush hunting I do this gun will more then do the job.

Why the reluctance to shoot surplus ammo? It is cheap to shoot and in bolt gun WAY easier to clean up than a semi-auto. The SKS, 858, etc all need to be stripped and cleaned after shooting surplus ammo. The bolt gun is pretty quick to clean. I have a friend that shoots the surplus ammo in his CZ527 all the time with no issues.

and aren't you going to clean it after you shoot it anyways?

Lovely gun BTW!
