Well if they aren't getting seized by US Customs and locked up for a year they're being broken by Canaduh Post.
The beautiful 45=110 at the bottom of the pic was the victim of some mail Moron who thought that the "FRAGILE" sticker meant "throw anvil here."
Questar has filed an insurance claim of my behalf, and the rifle will have to go back to Shiloh for a restock.
If you want to import a rifle from the USA, Questar are the people to contact.
They do all of the legal stuff for you and they do a great job.

I would be fit to be tied if that happened to me. I'm really sorry to hear this. The last several guns I've had shipped to me, I've had the fellow purchase a hard case, or I've sent him one to ship my rifle in, just to help keep the damage to a minimum. I then have the hard case inside a heavy cardboard outer liner.

By the way, love that equipment in your photos. All the pieces are works of art. That Damascus steel is gorgeous. Thanks for the photos. I sure hope the repair goes fast and everything gets back to you in 100% condition.

The worst of it is that the rifle is sitting here, but I can't shoot it.
I have been able to trim my cases the exact length as well as make a dummy round with coffee compressed so that when I put a bullet in it comes out to the oerfect OAL for this rife.
It should be a real tack driver.
I expect I'll be getting 1" ragged hole groups with it..
 
The wait for a new Shiloh is said to be about 2 years!! Any idea how long it will take to get repaired? Beautiful rifles congrats, although not as nice as a Tikka T-3 with hollow plastic stock, and plastic bolt parts, now they are an American classic.
 
I mail-ordered a Winchester Featherweight a few years ago and it showed up with the whole end of the boxed ripped off and reattached, and you could see the barrel, but somehow no damage. Bull#### lucky I guess.

BTW, nice rigs. Even nicer when shootable, sit tight.

And the damascus knives are excellent too. Are they made by Lyttle?

Swing by my place next time and borrow my Elk hide for a backdrop. LOL

Canada post really sucks. They dropped a collectors piece of mine on each end, it almost looked like on purpose until the barrel came out one end and the tang was cracked in five places! The gunshop I got it from took it back as he had not padded each end but we both lost out because of it. CP said they would not honor the insurance because they did not pack the firearm themselves.

I'm starting to wonder if UPS isn't a better way to go?

Nope I made the Damascus steel and the knives as well just recently.

Now I have to wait for someone from Canada Post to examine the box and damage before I can send the rifle back to Shiloh.
Heather at Shiloh told me the time for repair would be a couple of months.
I won't have to wait either, Shiloh has very kindly said that they will start on a new butt-stock as soon as the rifle arrives.
 
Good to hear they will get on the rebuild for you straight away.

Nice work on the knives Conan, I hope to get one for each of my kids some day. They are gorgeous!

As for the rifles, they are very nice too, they are on my "dream on list".

Hope it all turns out in your favor.

I think your mistake was having Frigile on the
box - when I use to do that, it always looked
like a truck drove over it, last few years I have
not put anything on the box and had no damage.
But I always put foam and a few layers of cardboard
on the ends of the box.

Perhaps a few wood splinters from that hardwood stock up the ass of the dolts that work for another of our national embarassments might drive home the point that they are charged with the safe keeping and delivery of "our" their employers mailed goods...

One of these days I'm going to get bit. I've saw $12.000 custom sako's snapped like twigs. Yet every time I'm asked if I want insurance I say NO...You want me to pay you to do your job, then pay into the canada post theft/mutilation fund,,,,,NO WAY!!!!!

PS. I cant attest to the last dozen years but if shiloh is making anything like they made a couple decades ago you'll have no dissapointment when it does get in your hands. The metal to wood goes together like it was all one peice
 
I think there are antigun people out there who deliberatly damage damage firearms and even parts .About ten years ago I ordered a tang sight from Shilo Sharps and had UPS Deliver it . The box was damaged and when I removed the sight it appeared as if it had been bent 45 degrees in a vise.I hate UPS with a passion but sometimes they are unavoidable. I phoned Shiloh and got a song and dance from Phyllis Bryan who told me to put in a claim.I told her to send it by US Postal service. Dont use UPS as I would even prefer that you air drop it to me from the Space Shuttle. Nuff Said
