My new sks... Unissued?? *couple good size pics*

Here's mine (top gun), I have all reasons to believe it was only test fired at the factory, and dry fired a few more times.
Carrier and bolt are crisp, nu traces or wear on the bolt head, minimal traces on the bolt slides, carrier is pristine no scratches, hammer is like new; stock was beaten up(nicks, dents, scratches), shellac peeled off and was redone; bore is hard chrome plated.
NOS I would say:

nice rifles but your 1950 is not unissued bcos it has a refurb sign on the top cover and also the stock is not original, its from izhevsh arsenal on a tula.

hmmmm..... that red star with arrow in the centre makes me wonder
if there was some kind of colaberation between commies and the U.S. Special Forces.
Sorry if i have offended any S.F. people. i just find that arrow very interesting.

I know and I pointed to the gun on the top of the picture as unissued; the 1950, though I like it more, has a 1954 re-serialized Izhevsk stock.

Do you guys think this thing is worth saving for collecting or should i just start shooting??

A gun isn't a gun unless it shoots..

I have a few "collectors" pieces that I've held onto for years because I thought that one day they'd be worth something. You know what, they aren't and the joy I could have gotten out of them would have been well worth it.

On the other hand I had an original Colt 1851 Navy, nearly 160 years old, worth a pile and I put hundreds of rounds through it.. still worth a pile and I loved it.

SKS's are a blast.. enjoy it, whatever value it will have amassed by the time you're ready to die would have been overshadowed by the pleasure of years of destroying your environment with it. :D

Well put! I think I'll clean her up and take it out this weekend. There are probably alot of these unissued kicking around anyways.
