I got my buddies friend to lower his price again on his Russian SKS, and throw in a bottle of his home made Apple Cider ( awesome and strong stuff) This SKS has been in his safe for about 15 yrs, and now is living at my place. :D

Also gave me this Bandoleer, which I will probably sell, can't see what I would need it for.

DON'T sell the bandoleer!
While more of an Asiatic issued item they are awesome, and I'm sure will be hard to find in the future.

BTW they load staggered like this...

They hold two stripper clips each pocket, 180 rounds total. 200 rounds if you also use the oil bottle pocket, which is the one in your pick on the far right that is slightly larger and lined with plastic.

While loading into the pockets wiggle and push on the tips of the stripper clips, and not on the cartridge body or you will unload the clip into the pocket. :D

Awesome looking Russian SKS, what a great find. :dancingbanana:

Bonus! :dancingbanana:

Does it have a cleaning kit in the buttstock?

I'd sell it in a heartbeat if I was able to get that kind of coin for it :D

Yup, found the cleaning kit in the stock also...doesn't look like it was ever used. I luv that little tool kit, especially the cap being able to be used as a bore guide. Simonov was a smart fellow.

Its a 1950, non chrome barrel. This is a rearsenaled Russian SKS like most are from what I have researched, and these ones usualy have a black, blued or parkerized finish. The original ones have shiny bolt carriers, and bolt parts, the rearsenaled ones from what I have read are thought to have been darkend to suppress unwanted reflection.

Got the same bottle with my Mosin Nagant carbine.

The Russians simply re used what equipment worked with the first series of rifles.
I believe one side was a solvent, and the other an oil.

The Chinese went to one bottle and simply used hot water, and a type of tranny fluid/oil.
