My new stock. Involuntary free advertising for M14Doctor.

The long rail looks familiar... awesome stock!

Glad you like her ;) Powmia's is the only one in the U.S. so far that I'm aware of. It's #3 of 12 ;)
i was going to do a rail version that was machined to contour to the stock like the one that was availlable in the states a few years back....... they still make those is the U.S. H2Oman?
instead the rail is imbedded into the stock , into a recess for about 1/2 it's length from the mag well forward. This recessed mounting and the 5 imbedded machine screws make this rail rock solid on the stock. Powmia's stock is a new manufacture but I also install the same rail on usgi fiberglass using the same recess method.

.......[edited]...... I'm sure my self proclaimed nemesis would be a little more craftier than that ;)

I think we can put the fly swatters away

just thought i'd throw these new pics up now that the new M14SA2 Tactical Hunter stocks (bottom stock in pic) are shipping out to thier eagerly and patiently waiting customers. This stock has been almost a year in the making to get all of the bugs and kinks out of the process and still end up with a functional, light weight, yet superbly strong stock. The M14SA2 Tactical Hunter will NOT be a production model stock, these will be custom order only and 4 months is the expected production time. Bedding to your action is free with ordering one of these custom carbon fiber/fiberglass hand made stocks. More details on the new stock will be added in my dealer adds when I am ready to start taking stock orders.

The M14SA2 looks incredible! What is the price tag going to be on that bad boy?

I'm still trying to figure that out...... but about 500.00 is probably gonna be the magic number.
plus options for QD swivels and bipod rail, mono pod rail
but we'll see.
Looking at some of the other rifle stocks on the market that utilize the techniques and materials i am working with, my product is looking pretty reasonable at around 500 plus options.

This same stock will also be getting inletted for a SAKO 338 mag bolt action and a winchester model 70 7mm mag, and vigorously tested over the coming months. I'll most likely adapt it to the rem 700 as well and utilize the BC Tactical magazine kit on that stock..... but these are justprojects for now and will be sticking to producing the m14 stocks for the time being.

thoughts?

I think that many will have a hard time accepting a $500 price tag for a stock with no swivels, rails, adjustable cheek piece etc. Having said that, I think in order to help ease the initial pain of hearing the price; people need to know that these stocks are NOT just a modified fiberglass stock and that they are indeed hand crafted with quality materials.

Would I buy one? Yes; but it has to go on the waiting list below a couple of other items ;)

Will others buy one? Of course they will. A great looking Canadian made stock incorporating quality materials and covered buy a lifetime warranty; it's a no brainer...

Just my two cents :)

And, of course, if you need to send a complimentary one to somebody for a review and report; I would be willing to help you out :p:p:p

if you compare the prices of Mcmillan or roberston composite stocks, my pricing begins to look fairly on par with what the customer is getting for thier money. Have a look at mcmillans website and see how those add up once sling mounts and accessories are added in. A base price stock in the 400 to 500 range ends up being much more than that if a customer wants stock metal, pillars(bolt guns), bipod mounts and finally stock bedding, as all mcmillan stocks require it.
500 with free bedding and fairly reasonably priced options for a hand crafted to your rifle, carbon fiber/fiberglass composite rifle stock? I figure the only thing that may cause folks in the market for a high end composite stock to hesitate would be the approx 4 month production time.

I could offer this stock in a bedding required, primer finish only state with no stock ferrule , no sling mounts, just the bare stock, for a better price for those who want a killer project to finish.

to go any cheaper on my finished stocks would mean using substandard materials that while strong enough, would add to the weight considerably. I am not here to make cheap, availlable to anyone products, I offer a custom hand made product , made from premium modern materials, backed by a lifetime structural, no questions asked replacement warranty. Which means.... you break it, we replace it ;) for as long as you own the stock.

For those wanting a custom stock but not the price tag, consider sending in a beat up usgi fiberglass stock for modification. This has been a very popular choice over the past few years for many fellow cgn'ers. The new M14SA2 however can not be made from a usgi fiberglass stock (original version yes), I tried and it was just way too heavy ;)

the new stock is lighter the the USGI modified M14SA2 and in the same ballpark as a standard usgi fiberglass or walnut with the metal buttplate installed. I just have to freshen up the batteries in my handy digital hanging scale and i'll have weights for each model. I'll be putting all that info in with the details when i post the new add. I did forget to mention that this stock acepts standard m1a/m14 buttplates or m1a recoil pads and will probably come with the manson M1A rubber recoil pad installed. ;)

Wow... I like to customize gun and I was curently drawing my own M14 wood stock. But your A2 stock is really interesting. Can you provide more details... Weight, estra option, etc... Did you have pictures of the stock with a M14 install on it?

Bravo!!!

without a buttplate the one in the pic probably weighs around 3 lbs or less but i'm just guessing.
as for options, once i'm ready to take orders on these, I will have 4", 6" and 8" milspec black anodized bottom mounted accessory rails, Uncle Mikes flush mount QD sling swivels, installed as per customer preffered location and number of "cups" , I am currently working on a built in carbon fiber/aluminum adjustable cheek riser set up that will not change the stocks appearance from what you see above........ and I'm currently working on reproduction USGI wide handguards in carbon fiber as well..... but it might just be cheaper to use your chinese one. :D
This stock will also be availlable with a standard type forstock for those wanting a more traditional stock feel and look.

Nice options! I didn't receive the M14SA2 yet and I'm already dreaming of a M14SE2 (old design)!

By customer prefered location, do you mean anywhere? Is there enough material to install a swivel cup on the side of the forehand, say near the front-band and handguard?

the last of the M14SA2's and M14S-CQB stocks are shpping out. Been a flurry of post office trips hehehe
the options i mention above will be encorporated into my inventory over the next month or so. I have been experimenting with the flush cups and will be able to say with certainty, which locations they will be able to be securely installed at once i test them in different areas. I'm still not ready to start taking stock orders, wanting to concentrate on rifle builds at the moment. I've got a growing number of stocks going straight into inventory so when i'm ready to make a couple announcements...... I'll have a few ready to go out the door. There seems to be a fair number of you wanting the M14SE2 version, so I'll go ahead and get set up to have those ready in a couple months.

Matt 308 .... very possible but I'll need your rifle and existing stock..... could take many months :D and i can't even consider it till may sometime.....

Carverk..... oh.... we'll make that happen for ya , not to worry LOL :D
you and that rig will scare every QCI deer for miles hehehe , can't wait till november, got it marked on the calendar already ;)

what i really need is a couple of reliable, and very handy employees.... but not having a whole lot of luck finding them up here. Rugerman will hopefully be joining me when he retires after this school year and I'm trying to convince a barely employed friend from vancouver to move up here into my huge house and work on stock prefabbing in exchange for full room and board hehehehe and a wage at some point down the line :D
