My new SVT-40!

Congrats on the SVT40 ; during WW2 , the SVT was a highly sought after war prize by the German Military......you have a nice peice of history , and you never even had to go to war to get it....

Yup! that's a really nice SVT-40. I wish Wholesale Sports was in our neck of the woods.

Nice score!

during WW2 , the SVT was a highly sought after war prize by the German Military

This is from the sticky at the top of the Red Rifles section...

“Captured Tokarevs gained more and more popularity among the German soldiers. So much so, the rifle became a very prized war trophy. In fact, they became so popular that the Germans renamed the rifles and issued a manual for it. The SVT 38 become the SIG.258(r), the SVT 40 as the SIG.259(r) and the SVT 40 sniper was named SIG.Zf260(r).”

Congrats on your purchase... now go out and shoot it !!

Also, join "The 54r Group" on Facebook and show your interest in the production of SVT-40 magazines that ACTUALLY work... not the sheit ones that are currently available which, apparently, are copies of parade mags which were never meant to work to begin with !!

Cheers !!

One would be to reinforce the stock and two would be to prevent an already existing crack from expanding. I've seen them with one pretty often, two every now and then but haven't seen one with THREE ever. If one needed three, I bet they just gave it a new stock

I've seen quite a few with two. Often the ones with crossbolts are better looking stocks overall. Presumably they would only bother with the crossbolts on an otherwise minty stock. I found one with two that actually looks like the original stock, which I have never seen before.

No, there were no crossbolts on original stocks.

No, there were no crossbolts on original stocks.

I realize they wouldnt be there originally, but are you saying none of the original stocks survived refurbishment? I thought these wrist bolts were put on during refurbishment. Or maybe I am misunderstanding you all-together.

I have an SVT-40 stock that looks like it survived the war or was made after the war during refurbishment. Doesn't have any wear or cross bolts. No ### out serial number and a new serial number put in place for the rifle. Looks like they took a refurbished rifle and placed it in a new stock. Wouldn't surprise me if they manufactured some new stocks for complete rifles that didn't have a stock to go into. The SVT-40 was an expensive rifle to make so I bet they tried to salvage as much as they could after the war.

If only I was older I probably would suck as much.

i'm older then you so that automatically makes me smarter even if i've been a couch potato my whole life! your young so you think you know everything and i don't care if you do. i still know more cause i'm old. i'm sure you have all the answers being a know it all kid though.

This is how it works in real life.

are you trying to troll me? if i was younger then you i'd still know more cause i'm me. you got alot to learn youngster. say a guy is 50 years old but gets locked up in a cell for 49.5 of those years learning nothing. that guy still knows more then you because he is older. young guys think they know everything. it's phucked!

Sigh, I gotta find some time and shoot this bugger. Hopefully it doesn't blow up in my face!

It's been mentioned that it's sort of loud and the muzzle brake can be annoying to others......thoughts?

And be happy you got a 6 port muzzle-break
Find the control far better on the 6 port over the 4 port.

Yeah, I was specifically looking for a 6 port...
as for the stock, I was hoping that the crossbolts and the single serial stamped meant it was a refurb original.

Its a rifle with a muzzle break.
Just make sure earplugs are in , the blast is there but i've been beside worse.

A magnum or 338 with a break is alot louder and stronger.
