My new SVT-40

Nice rifle. Make sure she's all cleaned up before you take her for a whirl. Take her apart and check her out, just to be sure of no surprises, its a good way to learn the platform also. Happy shooting.

Congrats and welcome to the big league !!

I'm in the process of cleaning up the 1941 Izhevsk I just picked up and hope to go out shooting this weekend.

BTW, nice wrist cross bolt... my '41 has the same thing.

I just picked one up today that has 2 of those. Some sort or repair or what are they? Mine is a 41 Tula.

Probably see those wristbolts on about half of them. Many have wrist cracks but some dont, so I think they started doing it as a preventative measure.

It's funny, they didn't seem to put the wrist cross bolt in on the AVT stocks but there was still reports of them cracking under the AVT's full auto function. I guess they were trying to save the manufacturing time and cost of adding them in, instead they beefed up the wood instead.

Edit- Really nice rifle by the way! How's the bore?
