So my first handgun arrived - newly purchased Taurus 24/7 G2 in 9mm. I picked up a case of ammo 147gr also.
I'm a beginner at handguns but here are my first impressions:
I watched a quick youtube video and was surprised with how easy the gun disassembles for cleaning. Within a couple minutes I learned how to be able to take the gun apart and back together. Now I can take it apart without looking in a matter of 5-10 seconds.
Gun weight is great with the polymer plastic frame. Grip is perhaps a little bulky but I'm fine with that since I have fairly big hands. Gun appearance is modern, attractive, finished nicely.
I took it to the range last night and fired a couple hundred rounds through it. Not a single issue, jam, hiccup, etc. It felt comfortable to shoot, easy to work with, and came with an auto loader too.
Accuracy is one thing I won't be able to comment much on since I'm a beginner, but I noticed at first I was hitting the target low and a bit to the right. I made a sight adjustment, but in the end I realized I was pulling the trigger instead of squeezing it. My accuracy improved a lot over the course of the evening.
Anyway, for $549 I'm very happy with my choice of my first handgun! Recommend it to any beginner out there
