I recieved this rifle in the mail on Friday Afternoon. I got it from the EE, and it arrived with the metal in good shape, but the wood finish was badly scraped up. And considering I never liked Brownings mirror finish over chocolate paint on these, my Weekend project was a no-brainer.

I cleaned it up Friday Evening, and went for a drive with Dad to the shooting range Saturday Morning. (It was kind of nice just getting the chance to spend the Morning with him out there, somthing we almost have never done.) I filled her tube with 15 Federal bulk hollow points and touched off a few rounds at the 25 yard target. It was bang on, so I moved out to 50 and then 100. It will shoot minute-of-gopher way too easy. I set up 15 empty shotgun shells on a railroad tie at 25 yards, rested my elbows on the table and promptly blew each one off. It's a shooter!

So then in the Afternoon I pulled it all apart and spent a few hours stripping the wood with various grits of sandpaper and removed any scratches and dents. Then I started applying several coats of Tru-oil, buffing with fine steel wool between coats. So here are the before and afters. I'm quite proud of how it turned out and wanted to share. :)

Looks very nice. A buddy of mine has a BL22 and I've always thought that they were nice little rifles. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

Wow. Looks great. I really like my BL-22, it's a nice rifle to carry in the field and I have also found it to shoot really well. Congrats :dancingbanana:
