Needs a scope. Just wondering what some of you folks who might be familiar with this fine shooting .22LR, have used for a scope, and if you have a reasonable scope recommendation for the intended purpose of this dandy little squirrel gun, and would you share your opinion and experiences with me?

It has Leupold 2 piece bases and 1" rings on it now, so I guess there would be no need to go to the bigger tube on this calibre of gun...I don't mind spending a few dollars on quality glass, but its not a show piece so the name isn't all that important.

Thanks,
Jim

Stubblejumper, who is carrying Kahles in Canada? I'm intrigued with their multi zero but not sure who stocks them and what they cost

Also, is your Zeiss a target turret with zero stop? If so, are the turrets uncapped? I heard that in the 3-15x HD5 they still have caps on them.

OP congrats on your Cooper! I picked up a barely enjoyed one here in .223 model 21 Varminter. Beautiful. Just found out from Clay that my special order 280AI in Jackson Game should be here soon. I'm looking for a scope for it.

I have the target turrets on my HD5. They aren't capped, but they can't be moved accidentally either. As for Kahles, I bought mine from Clay who brought some in a few years ago.

How do you like the HD5 scope? I'd love it if you guys could post some pictures of your rigs.

I'd also like to disprove the notion that the 3-15x Zeiss with the zero stop target turrets has capped turrets.

I'm trying to decide on a scope for my incoming Cooper.

Thanks for the responses guys, all good info...but just wondering, isn't a 3x15 a little bit strong for a .22? I had been thinking that perhaps something along the 1.5x5, or maybe even 2.5x10 would be plenty. All my previous .22's were iron sights, but then that was an old Cooey. The Cooper doesn't come with. Its glass only!

well on my nice cooper...im running a 6-24 s111 sightron.....ill split hairs at 50 yards!! i made into a nice target rifle....have 3 22lr soo this is my go to to shut ppl up lol

Well I just ordered this: for my Cooper .22LR

Nikon ProStaff BDC 150....$145.00 delivered.

Has some really great right ups and for the price I figured what the heck! I have a Nikon Monarch on my Savage Predator in .204 Ruger and it works well.

My 57M 22LR wears a Leupold 6X36 matte with LR reticle, parallaxed for 50 yards. My 17HMR wears a VX-3 3.5-10X40 matte with B&C reticle. Both sit in Leupold super low rings in the factory supplied bases. I think both are absolutely Perfect.

So you don't find the 6X is a little strong for the sorter ranges that a .22LR could be expected to shooting at most of the time?

Not in the slightest. The rifle fits, the scope is a friendly one to use. Grouse at 10 feet or gophers at 100 yards plus, it's perfect.

No one who tries a 6X properly set up would doubt its versatility.
