I am headed out to a meeting but I just received and unpacked my New to Me Springfield M1ANM, also from Shaman118. He is a great guy to deal with and the rifle arrived to me in a Gunsock, in a Hard-case packed perfectly. If he is selling anything else before he moves to the lower 58 and you are interested deal with confidence!! I only got a couple of shots, and combined with the ones he sent me here it is. When I have more time I will take better shots with some natural light. Cannot wit to get out and shot her, but gonna be busy for the rest of this week, then next week we are off to Jamaica. HOPEFULLY, the warm weather will not be far off when I get home so I can test it out.Anyways here we are! :)

Great deal on a nice rifle from a great guy to deal with! Thanks again JP!!

I have a stainless on a Super Match and it clearly states the intent of the rifle. At the same time parkerized is all business and makes the NM look like a standard from ten feet. Very stealthy.

Further to what I hastily posted yesterday before running out to my meeting and the Crappy shots that I took, I cannot say enough about the Gent I bought this rifle from. It was packaged SO well in a hard case with pieces of styrofoam added between the hard-case and the foam to make it fit EXTRA tight. Also packaged in between the hard case and foam, Was 1 Springfield 10 Round mag and what appears to be 3 Good quality 5/20 Round Mags (Look to be Norinco's), a package of Frog-lube wipes, and the Cable lock. I am back at work today and have a meeting tonight, Work and then Hockey tomorrow, and work Friday. However I should have some free time on Friday to pull it out, pull it all apart and take better pictures with decent light. Now trying to decide on a scope mount, to retain sights. Thinking Basset cause its easy to pull off and retains zero. I have an M14.ca on my current Norc but don't wanna do away with the NM hooded sights when scoping. Anyone have input from personal experience on the scope mount and reasons why please post back!! Thanks for the input!!!

Here are a couple better pics

Gas system (Unitizing welds barely visible )

Cannot wait to get out and try it out, the weather has warmed up here but work is busy, then I leave for a week of sun, sand and RUM in Jamaica. Gonna have to wait until I am back to put some rounds down the pipe.

Just a tip, you shouldn't be removing a bedded M1A from the stock... it will cause unnecessary wear. Hope you enjoy the rifle!

Yup, I know but thanks for the advice as some people may not know and can maybe learn from it. Wont be removed anymore, other than a once and awhile super thorough, clean and re grease. I wanted to make sure the rest of the rifle was as well greased up as the parts I could see, and take a couple of snapshots. She will be staying together for the foreseeable future now :)

I took it out and shot her with irons a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The rifle out shoots me with irons and my eye's are awful! I have since picked up an Arms18 mount and a Vortex HST for it, mounted and bore sighted it. I hope to get out and shoot it here in the next few days. Here she is with here Dirty Chinese half sister :)

You bet Barney! The Chi Com one has been given a good once over and tweaked up as per you teachings in Dundurn a couple years ago. Now I can see what I am shooting at with the glass rather than just a blurry blob so hopefully It will be a shooter. The NM should hold its own providing I do my part :). My old shorty would do1-1.5" most of the time as long as I did my part so I am optimistic. I just have to remember to take it easy on the coffee before I go out :)
