I have wanted one for awile but had never actually seen or held one until purchase day. When they brought it out of the back room I thought for sure it must be the wrong rifle, the box was so small. I knew the overal length but until you actually pull it out of the box and shoulder it you dont realize just how compact a package it is, pictures dont do it justice.

I could probably make that happen actually. Never been to a range...ever. This weekend is a planned 4x4 weekend so it will be Mission backwoods to test it out. But I would take you up on an invite to the range another weekend.

I own a few Kel Tec products, Sub2000 and a SU16. I enjoy both of those rifles aswell but holding the RFB and comparing the fit and finish to the other two its almost as if it was made in an entirely different factory. Still has the polymer's of course which I personally have never found to be an issue, but everything on the RFB just feels like its built to a higher standard. I noticed the same thing with my friends KSG.

One thing I just noticed after a little more handling of the rifle and explains some of the pictures Ive seen. I mounted my Elite Tactical and Burris P.E.P.R just I would have normally on other rifles. Most pictures I have seen of other peoples RFB's have had there P.E.P.R mounted backwords and I didnt quite understand why as there is plenty of room on the rail. Now I understand. When operating the charging handle the two main hex nuts on the mount are in the way and you smash your fingers into them so turning it backwards eliminates that issue. Yes I know the charging handle can be relocated to the right side of the rifle but I like it on the left side like on my XCR so I can keep my trigger hand at the ready.

Its very simple if your used to it. Like I said Im used to my XCR. The XCR is designed around never having to take your trigger hand(for me my right hand)or eyes off of target. Drop mag with right index finger, insert new mag with left hand, charge bolt with left hand, release bolt with right index finger, never removing your hand from the grip. The RFB of course does not have that nice ergonics being its a Bull Pup but still for myself I prefer to charge with my left hand. The entire rifle is designed to be ambidextrous tho.
