I just pick up this nice Chinese SKS 56 this week from the vallyguns site.
I was able to pick out a nice one, thanks to all you guys on this site with good info
It is an early model factory 26 "1965" matching ser. numbers and I cant beleave the good qaulity of it. Its on par with my yugo SKS:eek: "not the stock of course"
it even has the cleaning kit in it butt no cleaning rod:(
I think the stock is a new one put on in the 80s because theres no number stamped on it. But it is made for a blade bayonet so how knows.

Dsiwy: nice catch dave. i too got a factory 26 1965, my wood and bayo was also changed , ended up with a spike and fugly wood, yours looks great in comparison to mine.

i wonder why they do that? change the wood and bayo, and leave everything the same?

I do have very nice feet "I use foot cream twice aday" lol
I can see them changing the wood and bayonet together since the Bayont groove in the wood stocks must match.
