I had a hankering for a new gun (come on who doesn't!)

I sold my 10/22 along time ago and I have only had a 597 to plink with... I thought about the 22 hornet, 223, 220 swift, 22-250, then all the rim fires...

Everyday I get to deal with guns, so for the last 5 weeks I have been thinking what do I want the most.

I love to look of classic guns... walnut and Blue metal...

Well the answer came to me after 5 weeks of deliberation.....

It is the CZ 455 American, with a Leupold MX8 Compact 4x... I choose the one with the nicest wood (light years better then the next closest), and the best grouping. It shoots 5/8" groups (factory test target) and i don't think this wood was not meant to land in the CZ factory.

Nice wood.Don't pay much attention to the factory test targets,most CZ rifles easily do much better.I just purchased a 452 Thumbhole Varmint today from Prophet River,because I prefer the 452,and I wanted to buy one before they are all sold out.

First time out with my cz I did better at 100 yds than the test target at 50m. The test one looked like about 3/4-7/8." @ 50m 5 shots. I shot 3/4" @ 100 yds 5 shots. Not outstanding but it was the first time and I am sure it can do much better. Oh, I would love to have your wood on my gun, very nice.
 
Nice stock, they are pretty hit and miss thou. I mean in the wood department, one can be very plain then a real beauty comes along. Keeps a guy wanting more.
 
It is a nice gun but the glossy finish does not appeal to me my .303 had a gloss finish and when i re did the barrel and the wood i sanded it right down and just used tong oil
 
Wow...that's some spectacular wood for sure. Wish my 452 Varmint was wearing that! Then again, I might hang it on the wall instead of using it as a hunter.
