So i've been pondering an acr in non restricted or a knights in restricted for my next purchase. I was wondering, I've seen the acrs in their restricted form for sale, but I've never seen a non restricted one for sale. How does one go about buying one of those? (no I don't want to buy used)

The non-restricted models don't come around too often. You can get it re-barreled with an 18.5" barrel and have it re-classified. I 'think' Dlask made non-restricted barrels for them, and questar.
I used to have a restricted acr, but man was it heavy. Runnin' and gunin' with that thing was tiring, the arms got a good workout. But if you're just shooting gophers and paper from the bench it will be fine.
Great firearm though.
Can you guide me through the process though.
1 I buy the ACR in restricted version, wait the 12 weeks for the transfer?
2 I bring it to dlask for them to rebarrel it?
3 I call the cfo and tell them I now have a 18.5 barrel and I want it reclassified as non-restricted?
4 Do they send me some sort of paper work or proof that its now a non-restricted firearm? (seems pretty important to have!!!)
I've tried calling and emailing Dlask for other projects of mine, but they don't give a crap enough to even return my calls or emails (I wonder how shops like these even stay in business, maybe they are an hells angels front), so I frankly don't want to spend 2800 on an ACR and then have to deal with Dlask which will probably be another year or more.
I think Alberta Tactical does re-barreling as well, try giving them a call. I'm pretty sure there's a thread on this somewhere on CGN. Whoever does the barrel for you must have an approved 'verifier' and they handle all the paperwork for you.
So basically, if you find an ACR and retailer that sells 18.5 barrels for the ACR, and that retailer has a verifier (like Calgary Shooting Centre has) you are good to go. Someone who has done this please chime in as I am just gathering information from what others have told me on cgn.

Steps: 1. Buy ACR n wait BC's long ass wait time
2. Send rifle to Ian
3. Wait while he rebarrels it (time. He'll estimate on how long)
4. Once rebarrelled Ian will verify the firearm with the RCMP( timeline is however fast the rcmp wanna work)
5. Once Ian recieves conformation its been verified as Non Res he mails it out
Now enjoy your NR ACR.
Or you can play the waiting game like some of us and buy a used one at the right price.
