Thanks for showing! That is a nice looking pistol! Be sure to post a range report. Just cuz she's ###y doesn't mean she's sassy :)

Wow, nice looking. Really nice of them to include a holster and mag pouches.
One thing I find curious: Is it just me? or how can you call something "tactical" when it doesn't even a rail for mounting "tacticool" toys like lights and lazers?

I would imagine, because of the 5 inch barrel, but I really don't know, I already have the XD45 with the rail, so this time I wanted something with out, and in stainless...

That's why I need to have a TRP. There is quite a difference between "stock" 1911s, it's when you see a SA TRP that the words fit and finish means something, at least from all the reviews I read and pics I've seen.

It is very tight, the fit and finish is really nice, pulling the slide back, it almost sounds like it's running on ball bearings, nice and smooth, hopefully even better as it get's worked in a bit.

Nice! Where did you get it from?

It was purchased in the US

Great place to shop, and get your gear from, and the Anchor bar is close by, so you go for lunch, and then go home with your new firearm and a belly full of great wings.....and if have a significant other, she/he can go to the mall in the morning and shop for a few hours as well

Yeah, but the original gov't model (standard 1911-A1) is a 5-in. So why call a 5 inch the "tactical"? I mean, I get it with pistols like the Springfield XD, where the standard is 4-in and the tactical has a 5-in (or something)...

there is one with a rail

see here

all I know, is I did not want a rail this time, my XD has one, and on this TRP I wasn't looking to have it on it, could have gone with the other model, in armory kote with light rail

this sort of sums it up a bit better

It’s important to first time buyers to understand the difference between a match pistol and a tactical pistol. In our opinion and anyone whose life would depend on their firearm. Accuracy is not the most important aspect of a tactical pistol. Reliability is always item number one on the list of must have. In that aspect we found this Springfield 1911A1 to be top flight
. We loaded swollen, worn out brass, semi-wad cutter’s without any problem. A match pistol on the other hand accuracy is everything. Match handguns won't get dropped or dirty and are not carried for weeks at a time gathering sweat which can rust parts. For these reasons tolerances on a match pistol can be much tighter from the factory. The average engagement of an attacker is at 7ft that is feet. Accuracy is not the problem you deal with in a tactical situation the damn thing just better work and right now.

So how much time and money for the paperwork, and registration and such. How do the canadian side handle it on the way back. I am curious because I live right at the border and go to the BGC all the time. Alot of nice guns. Please from start to finish what is the process and how much on top of the purchase price did you pay.

Brief run down

They do not list prices or inventory on the website they have. You can drive over and look at what they have, even hold any and all in your hands, rifles, pistols, shotguns, etc....

If you know exactly what your after, call them, make an order, make a deposit, via credit card, and wait for the call to come and get it....

If prices have not changed, it's 100 for the first pistol, and 50 for each additional one if it's on the same bill.

They do all the paper work, and I mean all, even the import papers we need from Ottawa, the only thing you do, is once you have a serial number of your pistol your register it here, you will get your certification, at which point when its ready to go and get your pistol, all you now need to do is get a STATT from the border to home, call a few days in advance for this

go to store, pay for the item in full, they will then have you follow them to the border, at the border you pay your GST/PST and duties if any, they hand you the pistol (the guys form the store) and off you go home....

Simple, Simple, Simple

Cheers

I have removed the store name, it has been posted before, they are not sponsors here, so I will not post them again, search for my other posts, or pm me for more info if you wish
