be careful-
The compensator works very well for decreasing de-stabilizing gas at the base of the bullet as it leaves the barrel.
However - the forward end of the compensator fills with lead at the corners unevenly and the gas then destabilizes the bullet.
The removable Volquartsen compensators allow cleaning often - before lead build up.
Yours is fixed and difficult to clean.
Use a spray compensator cleaner often - BECAUSE - once the molten lead roots - it will be nigh on impossible to get the sh!t out short of maching the compensator off and scraping it out -
So, I'd been looking at rigging out a 10/22 but I started adding up the numbers:
Ruger 10/22 $350
Heavy BBL $200-400
Match Trigger $200-400
Stock $100
Match Bolt $100
Total $900-1200 and you're still stuck with a Ruger based set-up
So I started looking around, considered a HB 10/22, or copying what a few friends have done and buy a used one and option it up, then I came across the Volq website. I sent them an email asking about imports to Canada, they gave me a contact and 2 months later my new Volq 22 arrived in the mail today...unfortunately I have not figured out how to add pics yetso no pics yet, but all I can say is wow, what a sweet set-up. The craftsmanship is a sight to behold, the BBL with compensator is a work of art and the trigger, wow, it might move 0.5 mm, I now know what the expression "breaks like glass" is talking about, have never had one even close to that.
If I figure out how to insert pics I'll get them up.......
