Yours in a Model 94 carbine. As I mentioned earlier, Winchester made the change in name designation from the Model 1894 to the Model 94 in 1919.
Also, I wouldn't call it an "Eastern" carbine. That terms gets thrown around alot, but is not always an accurate description. I should know, I've done it before myself. "Eastern" Carbines were made for a few years before Winchester eliminated the saddle ring as a standard feature in late 1924, 1925 (circa serial number 950,000). Yours was made in 1929, I think you said,by which time, they were made standard sans saddle ring / stud. Saddle rings could still be ordered as a no cost option up to circa 1940.
