My newest custom grips - Thoughts?

OK, so here are pictures of the other grip from the set. This one had some difficulties, as often happens when working with burl, particularly such a soft wood as redwood. In the initial thinning process on this side, the entire top broke off. I glued it back together, and it has stayed and is solid, but you can see where it broke on the top of the second picture (through the screw hole). The shaping of this grip didn't turn out as well as the left side, but it seems to me that the colours and figure came out better. What do you think?

Sorry, Baldy, I don't have any more of this wood. Besides, I've not seen any in pieces big enough for the BH, nor would I consider them strong enough. I'm sure I could find something interesting . . .

Beside the beauti of the wood grips, I also interest to know how your 1911 perform. I just bought a Norinco NP-29 while back and I love it. want to get a Norinco .45 as well.

they really look great... ive got the same .45 and honestly i would take it over alot of the big name overpriced .45`s ive handled, the thing is solid as a rock and accurate too. Any other info on how you made em ? And what kind of magwell/MH did you put on her ?

And what kind of magwell/backstrap did you put on her ?

I bought the checkered flat mainspring housing and magwell funnel from Marstar for $69.95. I figured I couldn't go wrong with that, and it fit nicely. I filed the inside of the magwell to mate with the funnel, and now it's slick. Anyway, here are some pics of the other set of grips I made that I think look best on stainless. I had bought this wood (Burl Honduran Mahogany) to make grips for my own gun, but I think they need to be on stainless. They aren't perfect, as softer woods in burl are prone to chipping, and they also have some inclusions that don't turn out perfect. Any suggestions on how much I should ask for them??? BTW, they are darker than they look in the pics.
