Are SVTs really plentiful here in Canada? I don't really want one right now, but I will want one later. There are other guns on my priority list.

I haven't shot them yet, Too cold out :(

Davegp: I have them set aside forgot to put them in for the family photo :)

I"ve put about 800rds through one. They are great shooters. Reliable and accurate. I could hit a 6"x6" steel plate consistantly at 100yds with it. Hitting Coke cans was also not difficult. Sorry, I don't have any better measures of how accurate they are. I've only shot surplus ammo through it, so that, and my eyes would be the weak link. It actually is a fairly accurate rifle. From what I've read, it did not fulfill it's WW2 sniper role due to the method used for scope mounting. The rifle itself was not the issue. I get better accuracy with the SVT40 than with my Garand. Mostly due to the fact that I prefer the sights of the SVT. The other fellows that I know who have SVT40's also find their rifles accurate and are happy with it. With that said, I would recommend this as a good rifle - I LOVE it!
