I purchased a T/C ICON chambered in 30-06 from the EE here. Seller was great to deal with.

When it arrived, I took it apart and checked everything over. Adjusted the trigger, and hung
a Leupold VX IIIi 3.5-10x40 on it, then bore sighted it. [laser device]

I loaded 30 rounds of ammo with it, using the 165 grain Accubond and Superformance Powder.
The top load in my testing shot best [sub-moa]. The chronograph told a very encouraging
tale. I only checked 3 rounds, but 3010, 3012 and 3007 is a smoking load!! I am going to hunt
this one this fall. Dave.

Sounds like a winner!
The Icon is a nice looking bolt action, almost pulled the trigger on a used .308 a couple years back.

Had it out again today....verified yesterday's results.
Added bonus, 165 Partitions print right with the Accubonds,
quite rare with the '06. I'll take it! Dave.

Very cool rifles. High quality for a fair price. I always wished they made one out of stainless.
Pretty sure the ICON Weathershield had a SS barrel. About 2005? I bought 3 Icons to use for builds. One blued “pre-laminate” with a solid wood stock and two Weathershields that had composite stocks with SS barrel. I did some rebarrels on two but kept the third (308 composite) original as it was very accurate (3/4 MOA) … and used it to hunt maybe two seasons.

It does. Action is Chrome moly though. Coated with something.

No kidding, a smoking load! That will be a flat shooting and deadly outfit to well out past 400 yards.

Look forward to seeing the pictures, Dave. :)

Here are a couple of pics, Ted et al. One group is a 5-shot, the other a 3. This is a hunting rifle, after all. Regards, Dave.

Excellent groups for a hunting rifle, that's for sure. I was referring to your hunting success pictures after using it this Fall.

Ted

If it gets "blooded" this fall, there will be pictures, Ted. :) Best to you, Dave.

I had one of those, so many really good things about it.
The accuracy, stock and trigger was excellent, loved the look of it.
But I sold it.
I had magazine feeding issues, sent it in for warranty, they fixed it.
Then the trigger recall, sent it in for that.
When I got it back they never used any packaging and the barrel had punched through the box…cosmetic damage only, but still…then I took it out and the magazine issue was back.
I contacted them and was told this is as good as it gets, no more warranty work.
Well that didn’t sit well and I couldn’t see an easy solve for the feeding issue so I sold it cheap with full disclosure.
I really wish it had no issues, I really loved it other than that.

From the picture, I see two possible influences in the design: Model 700 (the bolt handle) and Tikka (the receiver, especially the left side). Don't anybody have a hairy fit. After all, it's Sunday night! I'm not saying anything bad about either of them, or the Icon! Great looking rifle.
