My next 9mm walther p99 or fns9

Fns9 holsters and mag holders are available , Solely Canadian for one makes them, and there are others if you search, extra mags are available but pricey, and the 40 cal mag will function fine in the 9mm also. Parts are very hard to obtain.
I cannot comment on the Walther as I have no experience with it, but the FNS is a fine pistol, accurate, tough, and I think it looks great
 
Walther p99 has hands don't the best Single action trigger of any polymer gun and shortest reset. Double action is smooth and stacks before the break point.

Agreed, Close to 20 pistols now and my p99 takes the case hand down. Mags and holster are easy enough to find, If you decide on the p99 pm I'll tell you a good spot for mags! and I bought my holsters right off amazon. PPQ is also a great gun too you should put in there.
 
I'm a big fan of the P99 too. I like the DA/SA trigger better than the constant trigger on the PPQ (though I understand why many like the trigger of the PPQ) and P99 doesn't have the 'prairie-dogging' barrel.
 
I have a walther p99 AS, I think it is the worst gun I own - the steyr m9a1 is my second worst. The left magazine release paddle is broken, to be honest I bought it used that way and prefer to use my trigger finger on the right side release. It rattles when you shake it, the trigger is plastic and makes a plastic sound sound when you tap it, The trigger also has a plastic on plastic feel when you pull it. I don't like the grooves on the grip. I have handled a fns9 at the range and it feels cheap too, the striker assemble was broken and the owner jury rigged one with a nail and a pen spring and the magazines had a lot of blueing wear.
 
Dont know about the P99 but I can speak for the FNS 9.

Shooting Center in Calgary has a FNS 9 rental and as of about a month ago, it had already logged 17,000 rounds with no issues. So I don't think parts would be an issue. Also the trigger wears in nicely after a couple thousand rounds, according to online reviews although my FNSs (I have three of them) are too new to confirm that.

Mag release and slide lock/release are perfectly ambidextrous and ideally located for my hands.

FNS fits my ideal ergonomics as it feels like my 1911s.

Holsters are available on Amazon as well.

For the price difference between a P99 and FNS 9, you could get 2 extra mags for the FNS. That would give you a total of five magazines. I am guessing that's three more than the P99.

Jury rigged a striker assembly from a nail and a pen spring,,,,, did this happen in prison????
If so, it's a zip gun, not an FNS!!!! :)

I did shoot a fnx40 in florida, man i could shoot that thing well, was it the grip, trigger, not sure, but loved that gun. Does anyone know about parts and warranty in canada? Thinking of trying the fns seems to be lots of holsters and mags around. Online
 
At this point, not a lot of parts or warranty support in Canada to support the FNS, that being said, it is a very well built pistol, I have over 3500 rounds thru mine and it honestly looks brand new. I believe CSS has a rental gun with over 17000 rounds thru it, and in the newest Calibre magazine they have an FNS that they put 2000 rounds thru without cleaning the gun at all, no problems with it at all. I am going to shoot mine non stop until something breaks, hopefully around 50,000 and then buy another lol :)
 
I would have to go with the P99, awesome pistol, and then theres the "cool" factor of being a bond gun :p
Have shot one a few times, my only complaint would be the trigger is a bit...squishy? But that can be remedied easily enough
 
I see a fns9L for 669$, the cheapest the reg. fns that I see is 659$ Not to save ten bucks but I might like the longer barrel? any thoughts on the longer slide? I guess holsters might be the issue.
