My next brake- which one?

My choice is always Spearhead Machine brakes. Kevin makes amazing products for all types of shooting and rifles.
They make quality stuff, and not being a #### here, that radial 2 port they make is pretty useless, throw a little more length it might actually work, way it is now when you thread it on, the first row of ports are pointless, nearly inline with the muzzle, brake might catch 5% of gas maybe? tried it on a 300Win felt like a 300Win, tried it on a 30'06, felt like a 30'06, tried on a 308, same deal, it's not expensive, but it is useless.
Again, not being a ####, just saying that one brake they make, completely useless.
That other one they make, self timing 4 port or whatever, I have zero experience, but I would never buy a brake for a bench rifle that has top ports, tried others like that, don't work for me, just introduces bounce and throws my sight picture off bad.
Neutral side porting I like, whatever Badger figured out with the Thruster being slightly above bore I like, probably the most effective short/small brake I've ever come across is the Thruster, gunsmith required to time and bore it to cal, but they work.
300Win tames down to 243 level or less.
7mmRem about 223 level, I let kids shoot it.
308Win and smaller, like 22lr,

I have an Area 419 Hellfire on my 300 WSM with carbon barrel. Very happy with the recoil reduction and ease of alignment. I have a MDT on the 308 and it seems more noisy/concussive.

I have a hypertap muzzle brake on my cz alpha 600 30-06. It does a good job with reducing the kick. It just blows a lot of air and it isn't cheap getting one. I don't know if I would ever get another one

Best I've owned to date is the gen 3 APA fat bastard. They've turned my 300 PRC and 338 Lapua long range guns into pussycats that I'd let anyone shoot.
The most disappointing brake I've owned is the gen 1 Insite Heathen. Least effective brake I've ever owned, even my factory 2-port RPR and Bergara radial brakes were better for recoil and muzzle control.
On my comp guns my favorites are the Hellfire and EC tuner brakes. The Hellfire does a great job on recoil and muzzle control still but I like that it's legitimately tool-less for cleaning. The Cortina brake has the nicest tuner integration that I've owned so far, and does well on my 6mm guns.

I just installed an ATRS ( Alberta Tactical Rifle ) brake on my .308 Win. Very good looking and the recoil reduction is impressive.
