My Non-Restricted ACR (Custom Herron Arms)

Where did all these people with ACRs get them from? I thought they were rare as I had to order mine in and now I've seen like 70 people from BC alone saying they have one. I guess it sells pretty well! Can't imagine how great the NR version will sell. I think I'll save my money for the ARX160 :D

I was told by a dealer that the acr come from from an importer in quebec.(wolverine I believe) about 500 get ordered in at a time, and every gun shop that wanted them got about 5 or so. I could be wrong but thats was what i was told at a gun shop when I bought the last one they had.

I believe Gravel is still the importer/distributor for the ACR.

Thank goodness you took the time, money, and effort to turn that horrible baby killing restricted assault rifle into a cute and cuddley non-restricted hunting gun.

Whew. I feel safer now. :D

Nice build. Moar pics!!!!

It is a very cute and cuddly non-restricted gun :D. I'll be throwing more pics up as soon as Arms East and One Shot get their rears in gear and get me my Battlecomp and Geissele and I can post some pics of how good this sucker really is.

You can with a 10.5 inch barrel assembly from Bushmaster.

The new barrel assemblies from Bushmaster are AWOL. The ACR you're referencing on AR15.com had a custom gas piston system and was extensively modified to work in a 10.5" configuration (lots of testing required). I followed the original thread last year and it was a fairly major undertaking...

The original question was with respect to options for barrels, and I merely pointed out the minimum length (this is based on both a friend's ACR that was converted to 12.5" and Herron, who indicated that you couldn't go any shorter without tampering with the gas piston system).

In terms of additional barrel features, you can probably look at different types, twist rates, fluting, integrated flash hiders/brakes and other calibers (like 300BLK).
